Now those rotors are in my head and occupying the portion that says "the 135is should have come this way". Damn you.

Hahaha, it really should have come with essentially the full line of BMW Performance parts - namely the rotors and CF diffuser. I will say though, once you see those darn rotors, it's hard to get them out of your mind. I blame owen2001. I'd just say if and when you need new rotors, it's worth upgrading cause they're not that much more than the stock ones (I think like $80-100 more per full set), and weigh 2 pounds less per rotor. Putting them on before then is an extremely expensive cosmetic upgrade. Or, split the difference and just get the fronts. Apparently for the first couple of years of the 1, they ONLY made performance fronts.

I wonder though if you may get to put new ones on under the maintenance plan with a few more track days and think if you upgraded then, you could at least justify it more with your track/autocrossing adventures.

Oh they'll definitely be ready for replacement if I do a few more days and then typical driving. I miss the e46 performance rotors because they they were "floating" which means even better heat dissipation. http://www.ecstuning.com/BMW-E46-330...All/ES2228825/

Can't understand why these e82 perf rotors are not of the floating sort.

Those look great. Love the floating kind. Too bad those won't fit, will they? Not sure if they went away from that for cost or some performance reasoning. The performance ones for ours also are not directional, which bothers some people, but even knowing it I literally can't tell the difference.

The good news too is that the performance rotors are covered under the standard maintenance/warranty plan which is part of why I had them put on at a dealer though it cost me a bit more, so it'd be properly documented. They back date it if you put them on after purchase to either your date of purchase or 2 years from install, whichever is longer. Nice for a change that it goes in our favor.

Yeah I'd love if our cars came with the Performance rotors, suspension, CF spoiler and diffusor, side skirts, and so on. But hey, what would BMW be able to sell us then!?

I've got an OEM CF spoiler on the way. Will post pics after the install!

Ummm, extended warranties and tire/wheel insurance? =P Ooh, the performance suspension would also be nice. You still considering it?

Only thing I may potentially get is the blacklines perhaps in a month or so with some tax refund money, though still undecided on those. I'm trying to get a fellow mineral greyer to be a guinea pig first so I can see what they look like on my color. =)

Oh I'm definitely changing up the suspension at some point but I told myself that I wouldn't do any kind of mods that affect the performance of my car until I've taken it to the track at least once. Best to learn the car stock and then start modding from there. Makes you appreciate it more too.

Thanks to you guys I now have it in my head that I need the CF diffuser. Did you consider any of the ones on Ebay or just OEM? i'm undecided and reading up on all the posts about 3rd party ones vs OEM.

Mind PM'ing me where you got yours from?

Oh what a dangerous game. That darn sexy CF diffuser for a whopping $1200 or what have you.

Check this thread for the posts where bp-plickner and mb135is put them on if you want to see some pictures of them on an IS. I'm sure they can enlighten you as well and I've looked into it, too. Seems like for fitment and quality of the weave, the BMW is hands down far superior, just really expensive. iCarbon used to make probably a good cheaper option, but I think they're out of business now. With all those cheapo ebay ones, the tabs don't line up, people have to modify them on the fly and do interesting things, which may or may not be an issue for you. I've heard of cheaper ones yellowing over time, too. So, while uber expensive, your best bet is probably to get it from a forum sponsor as they'll be like $300 or so less perhaps than a dealer. So check getbmwparts.com, and perhaps phil @ reeves BMW, etc. Then some of us may need to take on 2nd jobs to get the full catalog of BMW Performance parts.

Couple More Pics This Morning

In part cause she looks so pretty and in part cause the camera on my new phone is seemingly leaps and bounds over my old phone, thought I'd share some pics of my car this morning that aren't rotor-related. Enjoy!

Ugh, now that I look at that second pic all I'm thinking is, man, it would look so much better with blacklines. Much cheaper though than looking at it and thinking, man, I need to get the CF diffuser. =)

I think Greg "BMW Performance Bucks" Thegr8 has secretly already ordered his CF diffuser. He's been talking about his for months and sure seems to know an awful lot about all of the suppliers. He just needs to bill an hour of work to cover it...

Daddy BMW Performance Bucks here doesn't have much money left after the rotors. I actually decided awhile back that I prefer the stock diffuser because I'm not a big CF fan and more importantly, I actually like how prominent the exhaust is with the stock one. I feel that when the CF diffuser goes on, it kinda minimizes the exhaust, which not only might be my (and most people's) favorite thing about the car, but we've also seen how OCD and anal I am about cleaning those darn PE tips. With that being said, I've yet to actually see the diffuser in person and might be blown away by it one day.

Looking very sharp Greg. The paint is ridiculously shiny!

Do you wipe her down everyday?

Only on days that end in y. Ha, no, washed her on Sunday, then she got a quick spray down of turtle wax spray ice, which I then put on the wheels, calipers, and exhaust tips as well. Did have to wipe it down monday morning though as the wind kicked up a lot of dust on it in my semi-open garage. Not touching the paint/exterior for 2 weeks! I do have some fancy interior detailing supplies coming Thursday though. =)

It may just be the long-lasting effects of the two coats of collinite 845 I put on a couple of months ago for my ironic "winterization" of the car.

Here's a pic from when I got mine installed over the summer. Maybe this can help you make your decision...

That's fine. If I can then force you into buying some pilot super sports, too, then I reckon we'll be about even. The blacklines are pretty cheap and look especially amazing on a black car. I'll probably succumb to them when I get my tax return. And then my car will officially be complete.

I swear! Nothing else I would ever think of doing to it. Blacklines will complete my masterpiece! Like Frankenstein, only slightly prettier. Bride of Frankenstein? Was she pretty? I'll have to google it. Guess it should be the Bride of Young Frankenstein since my car is still young (8 months and 4 days) and in her prime!

Officially lost my mind over here...
