Have you noticed any drop in performance or mpg? It may be worth it but I would first ask to confirm if they can whether it needs to be cleaned to begin with. If it's not broken...

Yeah I didn't techron after my first change cause it took them two weeks to confirm that it was ok with DI cars back in 08 but since then every time.
But is this injector cleaning worth it? Is it like seafoam stuff or just Like techron? |

Fuel Inj Cleaning is a bit more precise.. but on turbo cars with DI it is not so easy... on NA cars, you tap into fuel rail and actually run the car for almost 10 minutes on a bottle of very concentrated cleaner and supposedly gives instant results... ( this opposed to pouring a bottle into gas tank and letting it work thru the system.) i would ask them how they intend to "tap the fuel rail" of a DI car at the pressure it runs....?????????????? the sa may not have relaized that your car is turbo / DI ... just my .02

I'm used to my ford 302s with 100k spark plugs I figured I'd cut it in half or whenever I tune the car past warranty for the 1er. I'm also gonna change the diff and transmission oils again. That's an every 25k habit

So if the dealer thinks it should be done why isn't it included in the BMW Free Maintenance Program.

Good question, i had the same offer made on my previous Bimmers usually when the mileage is near 50k or more. I guess since it's probably not require til beyond 50k BMW doesn't offer it as part of the regular maintenance.

I think it is just a scam to make money. Cannot hurt but it is most certainly not needed. My VW dealer pushed me to do it at 15000 miles on my 2008 R32 (15,000 is not even a scheduled maintenance, it was an oil change I required on my own) showing a so-called sheet from VW recommending it... Needless to say I changed the dealership afterwards for my maintenance...
