Type R-ed
So I recently wanted to change my shift knob to something more JDM and also smaller and lighter than the UUC I have(FS too!). And coming from a subaru TWM was pretty well known on the forums over there so I figured I'd give it a try.
I went with the normal sized Type R in a satin finish-- http://www.twmshiftknobs.com/shiftkn...hiftknobs.html It was quite a bit lighter than the UUC but WAY heavier than the cheapo stock knob from BMW, weighing in at 440grams some comparison pics: I wanted to add some flare to the knob and also make it more "jdm" so I decided to go and paint the engraving red... after alot of wasted tamiya model paint I finally ended up with this: Overall I found the Type R knob really nice to shift with, but if you have bigger hands it might be a tad too small. Also it was pretty hard to keep the ziptie on the boot from coming loose from the shift knob. With all the options TWM offers I'm interested to see what other members get in the future!

I ended up getting the M1 Abrams.
Great knob, very impressed with TWM. Always loved my arc knob, so this really brings back memories. I didn't bother with the zip-tie, I used a small piece of Double Stick Mounting Tape from Canadian Tire to stick the inside of the ring of the shift boot to the shift lever. Looks great when the boot stays flush with the knob! Lol |

I always buy my knobs from TSM. I've had them on my S2000, 08 350z and now my 370z and have the Gunmetal M1 Abrams coming for my 128i next week. These knobs are a must if you have a short shifter as the BMW knobs are junk. This alone changes the feel of the shifter by a pretty big margin. Highly recommended mod!!
I think you should change the title of the thread since not many people know about these knobs
