I knew that you got an 1 E, but I also knew that you often drove your 135 as it was meant to be driven. Is there a change in attitude? I'm the old guy here, not you ; )

What if you wanted to drive from Orange TX to El Paso TX, 865 miles without crossing a state line?

Eh? It's one of the principal east-west roads on Long Island. It goes to the furthest east point on LI - so you're driving to the sunrise...get it?

Haha, I know what / where it is, that was more of a 'oh hey, you're right around me, eh?'
I've lived on the Island my whole life. You work here / live here? |

Yeah, LI born and raised. Grew up in Freeport but now I'm out in sayville. Between you and me (and everyone else on the forum) sayville to manhattan is a bit of a commute. One of the reasons I'm now doing it in a cleanpass car. |

Thanks. And I actually said it above. $1100 a month. You know how ridiculous that is? That's more than what I'm spending on the lease, insurance, and electricity cost of the E by several hundred dollars

Hey BV! Knew you were getting an AE1, didn't know you had it yet. Why no pics?
Don't know if you can answer this, but does the battery charge last longer the cooler it is outside? Really wonder how well those batteries will hold up in summer heat. |

I didnt realize people were interested in pictures. Ive had it since march.
All I have right now is a crappy phone picture of what my driveway looks like as of a couple months ago. The battery works best at about 80 degrees. Theres a range of max performance and thats the beauty of the liquid cooling system on the car. It does its best to keep the battery temps within 10 degrees of 80. 91 is a bit hot, but remember it was being driven on a 100 degree day and was driven - immediately charged - then driven again. I put 250 miles on the car on saturday, a whole lot more than it normally gets. In the summer you can hear the cooling fans kick in - but then again you can hear everything kick in. |

Are you kidding me? I've been at "----" on the remaining miles about a dozen times. Just yesterday I had to do three miles past zero so I was crawling along at 30mph and trying to keep the needle at "ready".
I have one piece of advice when driving past zero. If you are on flat terrain or on a decline, you can make it at least a couple miles, but if you are going uphill, even a slight upgrade, don't try it or you'll get stuck.

Don't worry so much about the miles remaining. Look at the SOC. When it hits zero you have a couple miles max on flat terrain. Uphill will kill you pretty quickly. You haven't lived until you've pushed a 4,000lb 1er!
