who's with me???
ok, i have read numerous posts about you guys hearing from your dealer or salesman regarding your deposit/order. I haven't heard anything at all and when i have called twice since September i just got " I will call you"
Is anyone else getting frustrated with me or is it just my patience  |

I feel for 'ya, most of us are in the same boat--no order confirmation from our dealer. Patience, my friend, patience.

I'm right there with ya. my imagination gets going and I have not herd from my dealer so now I'm getting paranoid that I'm getting bumped from the first allocation so all the employees can get theirs first. .....and......and well I want my 1er and I want it now

BMW needs to realize that a 135i car purchase is an important and exciting event for most buyers, and find a way to play into that excitement. I've also had 3-4 unanswered calls, emails and such from my local dealership. And when they do answer, they want to know what I intend to trade in and such.
So far, my experience with those (presumably) selling the car has been uniformly negative. Right now, if I had to evaluate the buying process, my feeedback would be scraping the bottom of the proverbial barrel. Is it so hard to get somebody in a dealership up to date on the 1 series? |

I would ask other locals if they know of a better BMW dearlership in the area. Or a knowledgable salesperson.

I spoke with my sales rep yesterday. Actually, he called me. He confirmed my order and promised to get back to me as soon as there is a BMW production number associated with it. He claims that a couple of weeks after I have the production number I should be able to track my 135i and make changes up to some drop-dead date.

there are two places i could post this so i guess I'll start here.
I was just on the phone with my sales guy. he said that I can configure my car and email it to him and that I am #1 on there list But they have not received their allocations from BMW yet witch is expected in 2-3 weeks because the first run has a production date of february. so i don't think dealers can order cars yet but they may be taking orders on there expected allocations. and by the way my family and I have been dealing with this same sales guy and dealer for 12 years and he knows his product and hes a honest straight shooter. |

The differences in dealer stories is very interesting. I wonder if its a terminology thing?

It could be a terminology issue, but the fact remains that there are dealerships currently accepting configurations from prospective buyers and entering them into the system. I received a call to confirm my "order" and options yesterday. So, if you have a deposit at a bmw dealership, call to inquire about when they plan on putting your options and/ or order into the system.

My dealer says that he doesn't know his allocation but that they are expecting 2 demos in Feb. He also says his list is 7 and doesn't think it will be any bigger. So I don't need to get on the list for ED. Just give him 3 mos notice.
