Updated the second post of this thread with some more photos, including one next to a hatchback version. Looks like the roofline is lower.

It's perfect. Absolutely perfect. This is a momentous post.:drinking:

I'm thinking red on black with sport package. Absolutely unbeatable!!!!

Sorry to gush like a schoolgirl, but there's nothing like having expectations fully met. The masking tape can't hide what are fantastic proportions. There is nothing on the market that will touch this car.

With BMWs beautiful i6s, this will be the enthusiast car of the decade.

Hah yea I feel giddy too when I see a new small car offering from BMW... it's about time! I'm thinking the reverse combo of yours would look hot too - black on red interior. Actually I was looking at a few of these pics very closely and it seemed like the seats were red or brown both would look great in black car. :w00t:

Black on red would be really cool. I think I'll actually have trouble choosing color on this car, because so many combos will look good. Silver and black is out for me, 'cause I'm on my second car in a row like that. The Monza blue is really good, too. It'll be hard to choose...

Nice to see there will soon be an even more affordable entry level fun little coupe or convertible than the E92/E93 3-series. This should go far in hooking young car buyers and bringing them into the BMW fold for a long time to come.

I presume this photo, a PS posted on WCF, is based on the latest spyshots... The fuel flap is the wrong shape and in the wrong place and the rear bumper and trunk lid don't see, to conform with what we can learn from the spyshots. The spyshots strongly hint that there will be a Z4-esque fin on the trunk lid.

Thumbs up

Hello everybody! I'm new here... I couldn't not join this forum after seing those pics.

This is the car I have been waiting for. Ever since the 5-door came out, after the CS1 concept, I knew the 3 door had to come out (making the 1-series look better proportioned with the longer front doors) but was hoping and desiring more, hoping this coupe version would come out together with the cabrio version we all have seen testing at the Nurburgring.
I'm really excited about this car and can't wait to see what's underneath all that masking. Thought it deserved a more distinctive look from the hatchback version like the 3-series coupe to the sedan but would still be happy with that gorgeous 1-series front end. I just love the proportions and creases. I think they're spot on!

I doubt I will be able to afford an 135ci (or 235i) when it's released but i'm still going to be more than happy with an 120cd (or 220d).
:roundel:

Regards

I agree, the proportions/creases are totally perfect, great job by bmw!! i do wish the fenders were a little wider, but without ruining the compactness of this car, maybee an M version would find an interesting way of pulling that off.

First of all, to all the newcomers, welcome .

Second, WOW. We have waited so long for this car, and really, I still cannot believe that we are seeing it in the flesh finally. I really like the proportions the more I look at them, and the idea of a turbo really wets my whistle (as long as it is not too heavy, like the E92 is IMO). Also, according to an insider over on GCZ, this car will be even more sporty than the hatch :headbang:. Tis be good days to be a 1-series fan :roundel:.

Here's 3 higher res photos which I think show the care off as well as possible given the heavy camo

That first pic really makes the rear end look.....voluptuous. I love it.

Also, since the 3-door has already been released (and the one in the last picture is disguised), would it be fair to guess that these photos might be old?

It definitely looks like it has to be the 1-er coupe.
Great pic and a great find because it shows us much more of what the car really looks like.
The camo doesn't hide the fact that this sits very pretty to the road...has much the same muscular presence as the hatch and the roof seems very right.
Funny tho, that the Bimmer is sporting this bronze/red paint ...seems more like a domestic sedan color.
And it's nice to see some BMW bigwigs came along for the trip.

This is a composit of Eni and Scott27's remarks at GCZ about the pic Advevo provided the link for...........

The Press Release of the Coupe is scheduled for May 2007.

The BMW 1er coupe will be one of many world premieres (cars and technology) at BMW Group's outdoor complex at this September's Frankfurt Motor Show alongside the new BMW M3 Coupe.

The Cabrio undergoes it's photography later in April .
BMW releases Coupe first, then cabrio.
Film crew shoot for Cabrio in Terrigal - New South Wales, Florida Keys ,and Ece Saray Marina in Fethiye , Turkey.
You might see another Coupe in Sydney, Australia , Los Angeles USA or Zurich in Switzerland. look out for night shoots - your going to see this car cruise the streets @ night.

I have been informed thay got more shots so this is probably the sample to see who will bid the highest for these pictures... The prices they bid would surprise you..Do not expect BMW to come cheap. So expect $25k+ sticker.

Thanks Advevo.

Looks like we'll be getting more pics soon, the experience in the past has been once something is leaked we get a torrent of images.
Seems like the car is coming sooner than I thought.
Eni mentioned it'll base price at 25k...it's so easy to run up $$options on BMW models...Once we have the specs, it'll be interesting what people are adding on and the final msrp is.
