Minor irritation re Wipers

I don't understand why some manufacturers don't have it as default that when you switch the power off the wipers will not just stop wherever their current position is.

every car I have been in, upon being shut off, leaves the wipers where they are at the time of losing power... I dont understand your complaint though, are you saying that you dont like that they dont revert to there stowed position?

That's exactly what I'm saying. That on power off they should return to the stowed position.

agreed... when the ignition is out, you really can't do anything about the wiper because there is no power!! although I never tried it before...

My guess is that in snowy or icey conditions it is easier on the wipers to start them from the up position than the stored position.
