Alpine white e82 sport plus edition

Hello!

On saturday I picked up my e82 118d sport plus edition.

Absolutely love the car ( apart from the stone chip i picked up on the way home! )

A few photos....

The car is due back into BMW this week to have the M Performance carbon spoiler fitted - Cant wait!

What do you think ?

Cheers,

Ben

It's missing two cylinders and runs on the wrong fuel . Just kidding, as long as the engine suits you then enjoy it; I hear BMW are doing some great deals on the last of model 1er's now making them more attractive than equivalent and better priced (previously) VAG or GM etc TDI's.

For most people on here it's all about what BMW know best, the straight 6 but I'm always interested to hear what made you choose your model over a cheaper rival such as Skoda for example. I've often thought if I ever need to do mega mileage to warrant a diesel I'd head in that direction and pocket the difference.

Nice colour by the way.

Thanks for the reply

Tbh with you... i have always been a petrol head myself, This is the first diesel car i have owned and tbh i have NO regrets.

I have always wanted to own a BMW - I love them, So I did not even consider anything else. BMW are offering a great deal on this model atm and at 22 years old I think it is a perfect car to start what I hope will be a long list of BMW's.

Its as simple as that really I was made aware of the offer and within 2 months the car is sat outside .

Congrats . That's a lot of car for 22yrs of age, I'm sure many a high powered beast will follow as the years go on; I don't anticipate leaving the brand after my switch (335 at 23, 135i now at 25) as everything is balanced so well. As a petrol head you chose the right car, IMO the e82 is best handling of the line outside of an M3 or 1M, great out of the box fun; I actually switched from 3 series to 1 series for the driver enjoyment.

Sounds like you have had a nice array of cars at a young age as well! I would love the 135i... One day maybe. What do you think to it ?

I have heard nothing but good comments about the e82... i know the majority of people believe that the chassis on the e82 is one of the best BMW have ever produced.

I have had the pleasure of driving a pretty high spec e92 m3 for a short distance and what a car that is!

I am really happy with mine... very good handling, pretty nippy, looks the part, lovely ride, superb build quality - The list goes on. Forever looking for an excuse to get out and drive it!

I love it, it's the best thing this side of ///M, 1 or 3, which at the time were both out of budget. I guess the best way to describe it is to think of your car plus some extra horses and bigger brakes. The chassis handles the power well but it is really missing a proper mechanical diff honestly. I've thought about replacing it but what with? The E82 does everything well in whatever engine class it's in so I guess really only an ///M will do it...maybe next year.

Keep us updated with your progress, there's plenty of info on here for styling, brakes and suspension. A UK forum would be better for tuning I think be it that the US never got the diesels.

Nice car!

Pretty sure with a flash tune you could get close to 200 Hp out of that diesel motor.

What does the "sport plus edition" consist of? I can see; Blacklines, the five spoke wheels and black mirrors. Anything else?

Thanks a lot for the positive comments guys.

Cozy - I stumbled across some pictures of your motor, Very nice indeed!!

Dackelone - The sport plus edition is basically the M sport but with the addition of pretty much what you have listed above. I will double check this when i get home. I should probably already know this given that i chose this model over the M sport hehe.

Nice car, like the black line rear stop lights Would really like to see the render on my car ...

Like Dackelone said, you should do a chip tuning and achieve almost 200hp. I did it on my 120d and have a little 225hp (compared to the 177 stock, that's really enjoyable ).

Is that the trunk we all have? For some reason it looks different to me, CSL-like but not as pronounced. I noticed he doesn't have a spoiler on so maybe that's why it looks differently to me. [if it is indeed the same] Maybe it's the angle of the photos?

EDIT: I immediately see another without spoiler and it looks the same, I wasn't used to seeing a bare trunk and I think it looks great.

Looking forward to getting my spoiler fitted this week. i am still not ruling the idea of getting it re mapped out just yet. Losing the warranty does worry though.

Not a great deal to add really.

I have recently fitted some black kidney grilles which really do look better than the chrome ones imo. Still loving the car although i am increasingly started to feel the need for something with a bit more poke to it! Maybe a re map would be enough ?

Depending on the amount of power you are running now you should be able to get it up to between 170-180HP. Do it! Looks great!

Great looking E82 with all the right mods! Just the way I would have done it.

Do you have pics that show off your BMWP CF spoiler?

Nice whip, man. AW M Sport FTW, and I know what I'm talking about. We are very fortunate to have the 135i, it's a beast. 20d's are not bad, awesome MPG we get in our other car. We have not chipped/remapped the engine. BMW offers a Performance Power Kit which includes a software update as well as hardware (I think bigger fan and radiator; not sure there). Check it out, mate.

Would love to get the BMWP spoiler and diffuser one day...

BTW, it's called Edition Sport in other European markets and includes Blacklines, black mirror caps, optional 313M rims (you can get other ones, at least in Germany) and blue stitching on seats and floor mats (cloth/leather and Black Dakota only), am I right?

Your half right. It's full leather and pro head unit with Bluetooth and dab also. Here's my E88 sport plus edition.
