I’m starting to wonder why the 135 isn’t starting to appreciate....maybe I’m crazy.

Why would it appreciate? It's too small, outdated, been discontinued, been replaced, has inferior hydraulic steering, brakes that are unecessarily too big to stop like a normal car, terribly cheap interior, and an inefficient turbocharged straight six that has all that annoying, bothersome, and dangerous torque. It's an accident just waiting to happen. Besides, look at how ugly it is! lol

Haha! I agree. What the heck? When is my bone stock 2011 N55 going to become a sought after collector car? We probably won't live long enough. That's when. I'll give it one more year. Then, if the depreciation curve is still pointing down, I will consider dumping it.

Peace... Mack

I realize Canadian market is smaller and we have different dollars here, but for what it's worth, my sales contact at a friendly local BMW dealer assured me that my car, as it is right now would last exactly 10 minutes on his used lot.
He actually has a list of people looking for a local, one owner 6MT 135i with low mileage - I know, I was on that waiting list once.
Mind you, my car is 100% OEM+ (stock with some genuine BMW upgrades) with 17K miles
and in really superb condition. However I just looked at a 2008 135i with 80K on the ODO listed for $13,900 Canadian dollars by an Audi dealer which is 10 grand USD. Easily half the money my 2012 MY is worth. And although in a definitely used condition it didn't look terrible or anything.
So to me, it's a sellers market if you have a Unicorn and buyers market if your only requirement is a car with a cool badge so you can magnetize some pussy with it, LOL.
Which I have not experienced as of yet and I am honestly very disappointed about it.
I'm starting to feel that perhaps the car is not at fault as usual... and it is simply driver's lack of skill....

That’s the thing. If one shows up for sale, it doesn’t sit on a lot very long. The only time they may sit is when a private sale is asking at the edge of what people might pay.

My wife has an Alpine White 2011 135i M Sport (DCT) with 30,000 miles that she's thinking about selling. What should she shoot for?

I was ridiculed on the 996tt forum for years because I said it was a way under valued/appreciated car and at some point people would wake up and pay notice. Now all the smart asses that said I was crazy are stating how they knew prices would rise. A nice 135i and more so 135is will be worth a nice amount in ten years or so. Not worth speculating on in my opinion and I personally do not buy cars as investments. As I have said before am looking for another 996tt with the right options etc= cant wait.

996TT Forum is full of a bunch of jerks, not surprised.

Now is not the time yet. You'll have to wait some decades, or until BMW stops producing 6MT RWD I6 cars, for it to start appreciating.

I would be very surprised if BMW made any manual transmission vehicles, with the exception of maybe the M2/M3/M4 within several years, and it may happen sooner than that.

Same. If I find a pristine example, I buy it. That simple.

This thread was an interesting read.

I had always seen 1 series around but never thought of picking one up, other than a 1M but they are untouchable now hence why I picked up what for me was the next best thing M2.

Was looking for a nice fun daily and one day just got home and said I want a 135, that night online spotted two in my area and picked up the first I went to see next day, it was at a BMW dealer an hour and a half away.

2011 BSM, 41k miles, DCT, Red interior, no Navi, adaptive headlights and Harmon Kardon.

$17,500

I already see myself owning this for quite a while.

OP you installed the ARC8? I will be swapping out the 19" for either a set of ARC8 or EC7 in the next months.

Not saying the M2 isn't as nice or nicer but you can pick up a clean 1M for around 55k= same money.
