E93 Angel Eyes

Has anyone noticed that the LCI '10-11 E92/93 angel eyes are of a bluish bright LED look to them now from the factory? For those not in the know, these are the 328i/335i/is coupe and respective convertibles that have just received a mid cycle refresh.

I am wondering if this part number can be used in the 135i angel eye sockets.

Well so far, I was able to find out that the '08 135i and '09 e90 3-series use the same angel eye bulb, H8 12v 35w. If memory serves, the '09 LCI still had a yellowish angel eye color.

Tomorrow I'll inquire with a few a parts vendors I know and see what the '11's have as realoem goes up to 2/09 production.

The E92 LCI does not use an H8 bulb setup anymore since the corona rings have been optimally redesigned to distribute light evenly with the new LED light source.

Ooops forgot to update this thread.
There is indeed something in the newer housings (small LED) in the base that really brightens the rings. It is built into the housings and cannot be retrofitted into the 1er housings.

Oh well, guess I'll stick to stock .
