Tpms for 2012?!

Hi guys, just sold my oem m package wheel with tire to a friend. He brought the tire to the garage and I told him to give me back the tpms so I can put them on my new wheel set. The garage told him there is no tpms, it's directly on the car for those model...

Is he right? Or there is tpms and he just didn't give it to me..?

No TPMS sensors on canadian models.
We have a Flat Tire Monitoring System, which monitors wheel rotation differential through Abs sensors.

Yes, standard rubber valves for us.
US cars have metal valves since they have tpms sensors.
