Since some in that other thread are already bitching that it isn't a fair comparison, I did with the 135 against the M235

Do the 135i with the proper M-Sport wheels (261Ms). Those wheels make the 1er look terrible.

I don't feel like doing that much work.

The comparison isn't about the wheels, it's about comparing the lines of the two cars.

The side-by-side just confirms it for me. I never realized the front bumper on the 235 is flat.

I just flat out like the lines of the E82 more.

OK... I'll do it... You can talk about lines all you want but when you compare the 220 with the M235i the "Lines" appear different due to factors like the size of the rims, the shadowline trim, all sorts of little bits that influence your perception in ways you don't even realise...

Well, then good for you. The comparison I posted was a 135 against a M235. Sorry the wheels were different and it didn't have Shadowline trim.

The lines are still the same.

It's very similar to posting on any major news site regarding anything political..

You might as well craft an informative opinion with a Cat.

It seems that you can't truly appreciate anything anymore without being "labeled" or dismissed before a reasonable discussion even starts.. Then it's speaking to people who have their hands over their ears while blathering, "LA..LA..LA"...

I find it both hilarious and sad at the same time..

I love my E82, I think it looks much better than the 2 series by a long shot. The side profile of the F22 is nice, and I do like it, but I feel it seems to follow a more "suit" of what is already on the road by BMW. The E82 has a look of its own that really sets it apart from all the rest.

Would I purchase an F22? Eh, I guess I would have to drive one, but I wouldn't give up my E82 for it.

It looks like that post and our posts about the configurator were deleted. I wonder why.

Both are great looking cars. I feel like cars, new BMWs especially for some reason, are hard to capture on photos and look a lot different in person with the added depth perception. I have a feeling in person the 2 is going to be a mean looking car and will outdo the 1 in pretty much every aspect. I have sentimental value in the 1 (see sig obviously) but the more i compare these two, the 2 series has a really really good look to it. I am betting the interior is just going to be insane as well. There isnt really a need to incessantly compare the two; they are different cars. that's it.

they're not actually that different. their platforms share some components still as well as the same/similar N55 engines with similar performance and focus. Even their dimensions and weight are similar, although the F2X attempts to lose a bit of weight. The F22 is a car firmly based off the concept of the E82, so i think comparisons are quite valid to be honest.

i haven't really liked the 'newer' BMWs in terms of style. The F3X generation of 3/4 series are pretty disappointing IMO. They seem to have lost some of their BMW-ness as of late. I have a feeling that in a couple of years, we are going to see a return of 'BMW-ness" into their lineup after some identity loss these last couple of years.

I love my 1 but the 2, at least in m235 trim looks fantastic. Headlights are beautiful, only thing I'm not keen on are the tails -- pretty bland.

In profile, the back end of the F22 looks like a dog taking a dump... Ugh.

And why aren't the side mirrors body colored?
