More torque is down low. In upper rpm there is less torque.

So if you want to avoid dct issues get a stage1 pure turbo.

The low down torque with meth on stock turbo wont be nice for the dct.

Atm I've got:

Catless down pipes
FMIC
CP
Stock intake (don't like any aftermarket ones for n55)
JB4/PPK1

Adding pure turbo stg 1 + meth to my car shouldn't result in any issues with the DCT right?

Also, for the installation of the turbo.. Are there any other supporting mods/services that should to be done or recommended?

Car is 2012 and only 32,000kms.

Thanks for your help guys!

Wich mod do you recommend, Meth or Pure turbo stage 1? I wan't to slip my dct clutches. I think if I got both i will kill my dct
I suggest to get a FMIC first. It will give you a boost in top end power without hurting the DCT.

Its so hard to compare intercoolers, so I'd rather not even go there.

I'm debating this stage 1 vs stage 2 myself.. think I'll go stage 2 since my car is 2011 built even if it means running lower PSI just makes sense to go Stage 2

Yeah stage 2 is a no brainier. You can run more boost on lass octane with stage 2 compared to stage 1

So I have been toying with the idea of dropping in stage 1 partly because I was under the impression with stg 2 I would need either meth, e85 or race gas.

So I'm curious why does stg 1 require higher octane fuel to run the same boost?

Where I live I only put in 93 octane which is blended to contain up to 10% ethanol... My goal is to avoid methanol or e85 blends because frankly I'd rather not mess with it. ( even though tons of people swear by it and that's how you can make the most power)

Am I going to get my money's worth out of either turbo?

I'm open to stage 2 if it is indeed easier to run higher boost without added fueling requirements

Boost pressure alone doesn't necessarily equate to how much power your car is making. Based on what I've read from those that have had both the Stage 1 and Stage 2, it seems the Stage 2 makes the same power on 93 as the Stage 1 does on E85 and or meth. It's running lower boost but making the same power due to the efficiency of the turbo.

I dynoed 455 on 17 psi till redline 93 octane only on stage2 turbo.

For reference my maxed out stage1 on a E35 blend and meth injection put down less whp than 17 psi 93 only stage2 turbo.

Yes if you have dct you want flash for sure. You can also do flash + jb4 too if you want to keep the jb4 features

Yeah after looking at Terry's Dyno 17.5 psi is prob more like 450-460whp on a proper setup.

Cobb won't work on a 2013.
Your only flash options would be Dinan or one of the other companies who can bench flash it.

Im interested in the stage 1 upgrade. Im not specifically looking for more power, just a longer power band.

Bit like you!!
I'm very close to push the button..
I have jb4/catless/fmic/ on n55 2013 DCT.. Can't backend flash...
Is it worth stage 1 on just 93 gas.
Would it pull on the top end better than current and would it be noticeable??
