Radio tuner comes on....WORKS NOW -Thread no longer needed
with no sound. Noticed yesterday, turned volume up, no sound. Took sunglasses off, saw that tuner was on changd channels, still no sound. Powered radio off, back on, no sound. The tuner seems to function but with no volume.
Any ideas? Last edited by AlBinVA; 05-13-2013 at 11:00 AM.. |

My radio has demonstrated what seems to be the same thing you describe but I usually switch to the CD and/or aux input to see if that will work and it doesn't. You didn't mention trying anything other than the tuner. Somebody posted a "trick" that has worked for me and you may want to try. If you unbuckle a seat belt - or anything else that will cause the alarm gong to go off, the sound comes back. It seems to be a software glitch. I don't want you to be unsafe without the belt so please fully consider the impact of doing that before you do but I have found that will solve the problem. Otherwise, I have noticed that when I restart the car assuming it was off for awhile, the sound will be back.

This happened to me where I couldn't hear who I was speaking with via Bluetooth and when I was on the radio, AUX, saved music, or CD when I went to adjust the volume weather it be on the console or my steering wheel it didn't adjust. This was right after a car wash that I had sprayed pretty good around the bottom part of the wind shield to get bugs off. I figured maybe I had just got some water in places it shouldn't have been. Because after about an hour the volume and Bluetooth worked again.

Had a similar issue last night. My radio was stuck on aux mode, as this was the last mode I was using before I turned my car off. I made a stop and came back about two hours later and when i started driving i noticed my radio was stuck on aux with no sound and wouldnt let me change to the radio or CD player...just stayed stuck on AUX...Powering the radio on and off didnt work so i pulled over and restarted the car real quick and it still didnt work... I researched this on the forum and found a quick fix. I kept driving and unbuckled the seat belt and waiting for the chime, this seems to reset the audio, it worked instantly. I have had my car for 6 months and this is the first time that has happened to me. Hopefully its a rare fluke.
