So that also means it's faster than almost all Audis, an e46 M3, Some base Porsches...The list can go on forever, I hate these comparisons. To buy a car like a BMW you take into account for more than stop light to stop light speed. If not, no one would buy M3s, S4s, RS4s......Because they could get a faster car for cheaper. But then again, I don't want to drive a Rental Car with a blower on it. I want to drive a complete package. Speed is only part of the equation.

Yea must be the SRT-4 280hp.
But it only does the 0-60 in like 5.3 and they tested 135i at 0-60 4.7?

Um, 5 grand will get you a 1980s 5.0 Mustang that can be an 11 second car with another 2 grand in parts. If you want a real dragstrip screamer do what I did: drop an LT1 into a 1979 Datsun 280z.

Either way, my money says each morning you will still choose to drive the BMW.

Not exactly sure what you're talking about...

Maybe the lightning lap they did where the COBALT beat the 135 and almost every other under 70k. Maybe thats what you mean by faster?

2010 Cooper S  [10.00]
1991 318is  [10.00]
There will always be something faster than your car, no matter what it is. You may buy a Bugatti Veyron, then some schmuck will also buy a Bugatti Veyron, do something ridiculous and may be faster than you.

I didn't buy my 135i to be faster than everyone else and "talk sh*t" to people about it. Did you?

Can you be more specific in terms the numbers the Dodge Caliber SRT beat 135i. Or you can straight out ask the person that. Maybe he's jerking you around

I agree!

BTW, if you really want to compare the two cars, also take into account the build quality, interior, quality, feel, and lets not forget the looks. I think the Bimmer would beat the Caliber in a lot of these categories...

Agreed 100%. I wouldn't want to be driving around a dodge unless its a classic car, even then with issues of reliability, I would still choose a 1 series or a newer BMW.

to quote car and driver regarding the SRT4 (December 07...i know because i was just reading it on the can this morning)

"A mug its own mother would slug, high-sheen plastics among the cheap bits, a bucking ride"

5.8 seconds 0-60
14.4 seconds quarter mile (sh!t...a 128 is faster than an SRT4)

In C&D's latest Lightning Lap, the 135 *spanked* the SRT4 by seven seconds around VIR. Enough said.
