I thought the exact same thing. No regrets.

Great idea for a thread.

I do think I would skip the power seats. They are slower to adjust and add weight. Plus, the height and tilt don't adjust as much as the manual ones. And since I'm the only one who drives it, I don't have to constantly readjust the seat anyway.

Without power seats, Comfort Access is less important, so I'd skip that, too. half the time I use the fob anyway.

I'd go for jet black instead of SBM. SMB is hard to take care of, anyway, so I might as well have the real thing (and save money).

The electric lumbar support is not so great. The controls are really strange. Hard to get it right. They say the controls are working properly, but the up-down doesn't just move the bulge up and down, it also makes it bigger and smaller. Really dumb. I wouldn't miss it.

The voice control is absolutely f***ing useless. USELESSS. A complete failure. BMW should be ashamed. A lot of money for nothing. The only command that works reliably is "close display." Forget trying to get it to dial a name.

The biggest change would be to get the 123d, with its two-liter turbocharged diesel engine, which delivers 204 hp. It's a lot more practical with the way I drive. And maybe quick enough. Especially since I decided to order the performance suspension afterwards, anyway, for my 135. So that I'd have to really think about.

Would definitely get the ski bag. That pass-through would be convenient. I thought it was just the bag that I wasn't ordering. So that was a mistake.

I have bought BMW’s in the past so I know exactly what I want and do enough research to have no regrets.:roundel:

I never use the compass, but I do like the autodimming rear and side mirrors.

It's not useless with a vert. However, it is useless with a 3G iPhone - I've never not had a problem with awful feedback. Now that I have the new software update, I should try again.

I would have gotten Comfort Access - I still dream of a day when I can put the top down with the remote. And I might have gotten PDC. I've never had an issue, but there's times when I think it could be handy.

I believe there's an aftermarket module that's plug and play and allows you to control the top, windows, etc with the fob. Do a quick search and you'll find it. Not hugely expensive IIRC. Will it cause warrenty issues? Who knows.....

When I went shopping for a good deal on a remaining 2008, I didn't get much choice. The only 128i coupe (with manual transmission) I could find was fully loaded. At first, I rejected a fully loaded car (due to extra cost) but in the end, I bought it.

In hindsight, I'm glad I paid the extra cash. The sports package (wheels and seats) is phenomenal. I love my bluetooth so much, I'm trying to retrofit my other ride (2006 Audi A3).

The existing module is only for the coupe. There will be a module for the vert, but they're still waiting for a beta tester in Southern California willing to loan their car for a day for final testing.

They've been waiting for a while. As have I. Next time, I'll get it first go round.

I basically got everything but NAV/iDrive so I am completely happy with my setup.

I especially like the M sport package that comes with the M wheel, door sills and 261M wheels.

I would've gotten the sport package...the sales associate had kept asking me if I wanted it or not.

The funny thing is, I did, but didn't think I'd have the extra money. If the sales associate hadn't kept asking me (like every 20 min or so), I'd probably have done it!

Anyway, the shadowline trim, the bucket seats, the M wheel, all things I want. I don't want the wheels that come with the sport package though.

All in all, I'm happy with my purchase, but the sport package would've made it nicer.

I would pay to go back and get rid of comfort access. Every time it doesn't work I get so irritated I want to get rid of the car.. and that's quite often. I took it to the dealership and it still doesn't start most of the time with the key in my pocket.

If I didn't have comfort access I would be perfectly happy with everything.

^Got the ski bag! Will let you know at end of ski season how much I used it.
btw, if you leave the rear seat panel open while the vert top is down the ski cover pops out into the passanger compartment like a big freeken condom!
Had an ugly episode on the thruway with the ski condom deploying while doing 70mph, was not a pretty sight as I tried to restrain it.

That's brutal. Hopefully you can get it corrected. I love comfort access and I'm sure you would too if it actually worked the way it's supposed to.

I would have opted for a 135 M Sport without the BMW Performance body kit, and just ordered the side skirts and the carbon mirrors and rear deck spoiler. I think I prefer the look of the M Sport front bumper now.

At the time of purchase, the entire kit was on the car so it wasn't reasonable to have the dealer tear off the bumper and re-install the original one.

Not me. :-) I would, however, probably sell my 1 and re-buy if Laguna Seca blue were offered, even at $5k.

Other than that, I like the option set on my car. I kinda wish the heated steering wheel option would've been available for '08. But it's no biggie.

would drop comfort access.....a waste. you have to be within 4 feet to open/close the top. if you're this close anyway...why not just be in the car???

would drop the premium package (still get red leather)

would def get the park distance control with the convert....can't see sh*t with the top up.....

would get sirius radio

Wish the interior was dark color, its a pain trying to keep it clean. Wish I got the power seats so I can get the mirror slide feature. Would not of gotten the premium hi-fi, its a pos and I'm spending about another thousand now on a new aftermarket system to replace that POS. May be get the premium package?
