The 1er is deep sea blue is sexy. It is styled so differently that it makes it look exotic in my eyes. Its got curves while being sleek at certain angles and at others it is in your face letting you know it is there.

The 1er is probably my favorite currentish line up car but I am not going to pretend it is the best looking.

No offense to us, but our headlights are pretty ugly. Now if we could fit e9x LCI lights on our car, we would compete.

The 1er's looks have really grown on me. I like it from all angles except dead on front. Still looks weird, 1M looks much better with the wide stance and fenders.

It's one of the best looking today. But I'd still say the e36 and e31 will always look the best to me and most timeless.

Every single BMW on the market today has something about its exterior that I can either critique or our just outright dislike.

The E90 3 series sedan has a weird front that looks strange at certain angles imo. The sportier coupe model looks amazing from the front... but the rear doesn't quite fit for some odd reason. Just seems a bit too flat and "boxy" to me. The 7 series are definitely cool cars... but they've always looked a bit over-the-top (and for the price, maybe they should be). Much more feature / performance rich than it is visually pleasing though. New 6 series coupe / convertible looks like a dolphin on steroids. 5 Series is pretty nice, I'll admit... but I actually liked the previous model (E60's) more than the newer F-10's. E46 / M3 is probably one of the more aesthetically pleasing BMW's, in my eyes at least... but even the M3's looks seem to have downgraded a bit with the introduction of the E90's imho.

Now, when I step back and look at the 1 series... I see damn near perfection (I'm talking exterior only, of course). It is a BEAUTIFUL vehicle in my eyes and all of the curves, the overall size, and minor details seem to compliment each other very well overall. It has just the right touch of "aggressiveness", while still maintaining a certain level of elegance and luxuriousness.

In short, it just looks like BMW got it "right" to me.

...but then again, maybe it's just because I own one
I AGREE 150%! Im a professional designer and have a trained eye to critique all aspects of design, proportion and aesthetics. You not only nailed why the 1 is the best looking but exactly whats wrong with the others (especially the 3 coupe)...nice job!

E31.. The most "British" looking of all BMWs, is my pick for top looker.

It may not be the best looking (though I really like it), but the 135i and 135is are easily the best driving cars BMW makes today (see the May issue of Road & Track, June issue of Bimmer and this year's Consumers Report car buyer's guide). Unless my 2012 135i gets too expensive to maintain once it is out of warranty, this will be a long term keeper.

1 series is straight fugly, but i love it. I wouldn't dare say its BMW's best looking car, but certainly it's best drivers car.

I don't about aesthetically but I believe it's the most BMWish looking model since the e46. I mean just look at it, it's a modern day 2002tii.

As someone said earlier... Z4M coupe is tops on my list. Was close to buying one instead of my 135...

The 1st is a good looking car but I don't think the best maybe not even top 5. In no perticular order I like the e60 m5. E92 M3, e30 m3, e46 M3 CSL, and the z4 M Coupe. That is just my opinion and I guess I like M cars but I want a car to stand out some. The 1st stands out as well but a benefit and a curse of the car in my mind is women, in general, love it.

The 1 series is only good looking because it is excellent to drive. From a purely aesthetics standpoint is a girly eyed saggy middle rounded chick car.
