VMR Wheels with Coilovers. Spacers needed?
So I read that some coilovers have an issue with wider wheels, in that the spring perch can rub on the tyre at the front.
Can anyone tell me if I'm likely to rub the shock absorber with the following? - VMR V710 19x8.5" ET45 front (FYI 19x9.5" ET50 rear) - KW V1 coilovers |

Yes, I've fired off a couple of posts to members who have had the same wheel specs to hopefully gather a full and final opinion before I dismantle the car. Thanks for you input and I'll take your advice on the 3mm spacer. Is it safe to use stock lugs? |

I have KWv3's with 18x8.5 +45 front wheels with 245/35 front tires.
I bought 4 3mm spacers when I did the install knowing fitment would be close. With no spacers it rubbed 6 mm spacer (doubled up 3mm) no rub Then tried 3mm spacers....and no rub (so I stayed with that, but is real close) If you want the front real low, you will need more than a 3mm spacer. For a moderate drop (tire almost tucked) 3mm works |
