Where to buy OEM wheel nut key?
Everyone, I am missing my original wheel nut key.
Does anybody know where I can buy another one? Im in a bind atm, just got a nail in run-flat tyre but cannot get them off to be changed, local tyre place does not have a key to undo them. They wont plug the runflats, so Im attempting to plug them myself with the car jacked up. Tempoary measure untill I have the wheel nut key. |

i think you have to go to a bmw dealership as every car has a different pattern (well there a few diff patterns anyway), and they have to give you the corresponding one.
since its a runflat hopefully it will last the distance?? but im guessing you want to do it today and the shop is closed/?? did you check its not in your boot near the battery? |

Yeah I checked there, usually its in the black plastic removable part last time I checked.
I couldnt go to the dealerss service department anyway being its sunday there day off. I manage to finally plug the tyre backup. What a mission and a half that ordeal was. Alot easier if you can take the wheel off. Damn nut key! Oh well time to make the most of the remaining day and sink a few coldies. |

Wheel nut key
I lost mine too. I suspect I probably left it sitting in the wheel nut after changing the tyre. So it's probably lying around one of my neighborhood streets somewhere.
I took the car to the dealer and the service guy had a master set. There looked to be about 20 different patterns and he just did a trial and error fit until he found the one that fitted my car. He had a spare available on the shelf. It was about $20 if I recall correctly. |

I know, I thought the same thing when I was told how the pro's plug tyres.
If its good enough for them, then its all OK with me. Unless Ive been told porkies I think this is the method the pro's use as well. They probally are in better position to inspect the tyre for damage first tho. |
