335 owners with some mileage under their belts
(335 owners only please to keep this focused )
Anyone notice any of the following issues: 1) Engine overheating/shutting down 2) Engine blowing up 3) Reduced power after getting an ECU flash 4) Cold start stalling/sputtering every now and then 5) Broken Seatbelt butlers 6) Extreme pleasure from driving this fantastic car I suffer from issue 4 and 6 only at 400 miles. My seatbelt butlers seem to have the 'fix' that my dealer mentioned to me because they work great. I've been doing the 'hard' break in since about 128 miles... Any other issues you may have had feel free to add them. Looking for actual problems people have had not speculation. Last edited by Zeroday; 10-16-2006 at 02:38 PM.. |

No issues during my 1298 miles of ED Driving except for the seatbelt handler sometimes missing the belt and handing me nothing.

335 problems at 1250 miles
#4 : only when I go out and the engine is pretty cold. A couple of sputters, but goes away within 30 secs.
#5: My only real problem that I have had. Driver's side only. No prob with passenger side butler. Been so annoyed that the driver's butler arm has found a home in my center console until I make it back to the dealer. There is a dealer fix? Please elaborate. - I have also noticed a little wind noise in the driver's side window, but very minor .

Put over 1400 miles on in two weeks during Euro Delivery. Took the car to 155 mph too.
Only issues were a little of the cold start roughness. No ECU flash at that time so can't comment on that one. No over heating/blowing up. Even at 155 mph for almost 10 minutes, the temp gauge didn't move. It runs hotter than most cars but no overheating. Otherwise the car was flawless. The butlers are a little hokie, but they work, so far. The car did everything I asked it to and made me feel like I wasn't asking enough. There always seemed like there was more waiting and I wasn't brave enough to ask for it. K

I had the arm butler pop out once, put it back in and no probs since. Maybe 10 secs of a rough idle when I first crank her up, but nothing after that. So far I'm really enjoying it.

Im at 1400 miles and drove It like a maniac since day one... No overheating and haven't done the flash.... I do have a little sputter evry once and a while when it starts up AND I live in the frickin AZ desert.... So cold isn't a big issue and I still feel it when it starts up.... The lowest temp its been in is probably like 69 degrees... Passanger seat belt thingy has popped out like three times and I just click it back into place... LOVE THE CAR!!
Oh yeah.... my wireless key doesn't seem to have much range.... Sometimes I can stand next to the car with the key in my pocket and the door wont unlock unless I get it out and point it in the window... Also it seems like maybe 1/15 times I get in the car it displays the key warning light untill I plug in the key..... thats kind of a pain........ |

Wow so the loss of power after ecu flash is now a common problem? There is now 3 people that have the same problem. Do you guys think bmw will fix it so its as fast as before, or is it going to be this way from now on?

Only one person in this thread so far has the ECU flash problem. Sorry that's my fault, I got the numbering screwed up in this thread, I asked people to update their numbers but they haven't. #3 used to be the cold start sputtering issue...that's what the first posters in this thread were reporting. #5 used to be the 'Extreme pleasure from driving this fantastic car' problem All posts after and including post #5 in this thread are accurate. Those before are not. |

Just drove a few yards at the dealership. Engine was sounding like a diesel(issue1) I do have 2 doors more(issue 2) let's see what tomorrow brings. |
