Hi All -
Just placed my order for an '11 135i AW w/ 6-speed, M-Sport, Premium, Value, Convenience, Heated Seats and HK Sound. My question is... If I were to add the Performance Suspension and possibly the SSK, which are port installed accessories, how do these fit into the price and ultimately the lease? Are they seen as the other options on the vehicle? Therefore since I'm doing a 24-month lease I would be better off doing it now or does it make sense to wait and do it on my own dime? Thanks in advance! |

I kinda had to push for port install of my exhaust & suspension, but saved ~$650 by doing so (thanks to info on these forums). Was able to residualize on $400 of exhaust.
See my past posts for links to others' info on this.

Typically not at this point of the year, thats usually something you see in december, but BMW could since the 2011s came out so early.

yup. and sorry, what I meant to say was that the current MY usually get better lease rates as we get into December and the next MY comes out but I think you got my drift. Basically a 2010 should lease a little cheaper than a 2011 at this point until the programs go out (as dbtheo points out below).
For some reason when I type on my phone things just don't come out of my brain as well thought out. Last edited by UdubBadger; 09-29-2010 at 03:30 PM.. |

sometimes it's better to lease a 2011 even with less discount on the car. I got a 69% residual @ .00225 MF. payment would have been $30/mo more on a 2010 that got discounted $1500 more than the 2011.
I'm a CA in SoCal. I know the programs well, if you have any questions feel free to email me. KapustaN@Autonation.com |

an important and time sensitive question re: changed money factor during production
you've been kind through 35 pages of posts so far. and here i come . . .
i'm new to iaddicts and this is my first post. i ordered my 135i on august 26 and spent a while negotiating a (hopefully good) lease deal. (in the end, with taxes, title, etc., down ($3xxx) the monthlies worked out to $495/mo, 36 mos, 10k, 64% resid, and a .0017mf, for a $45,500 msrp i got for ~$42,600.) i put down $1k on credit card for them to order the car which was promised to me in 4-6 weeks. (yeah, right!) their contract at the time delineated the $3xxx, $495, 36mos, and 10k, but not the 64%, .0017, $45,500, or $42,600. hey, it's just a contract so they can order the car and take a deposit. since i ordered, the mf went down from .0017 to .0013. therein lies the rub. on thursday, i asked my ca about the lower rate and he emailed that it would result in only $3-4 mo savings. i wrote back saying that i thought that was incorrect and the only way to resolve the amount, of course, was to print out a lease information screen for my deal, i.e., one that came out to $495/mo with .0017, etc., and then print a screen with all the same numbers *except* changing the .0017 to .0013. i knew damn well how much the difference should be, by the way. without a response, i went the dealership yesterday and pushed my ca to do the print outs. he went to his manager and came back and said it would now be $480/mo. not wanting to lose out on that reduction i re-signed a new contract. (fyi: i went to law school and in my judgment at that moment i made a good decision as i was concerned they could refuse any reduction at all and i was *not* about to lose $540 in order to *try* to get double that.) anyway, i then told him that i had computed the difference to be $29-$30 and again pushed him to get his manager to run the print outs. he went to his manager and came back quickly telling me that the $480 is the price and his manager won't run the print outs. yes, i know why he won't run them. i believe that they split the difference between the .0017 and .0013: they gave me $540 off my lease and they took the other $540 as additional profit. sorry for long set of facts but my questions, though somewhat redundant, should be obvious: can they do that? do they have to write the lease using .0013 which would lower my 'contract' $495? since my negotiated monthly of $495 was on the contract but my mf was not, are they on legit grounds denying me the reduction? is it discretionary? if there's anything else i should know, i'd appreciate it. thanks a ton for reading my tome. michael

They can write your lease at up to .0017 if you have excellent credit and it goes up from there.
The .00130 is what they buy it for and whatever they sell it for up to .00170 is profit. Most dealers do not want to give up the entire amount as the finance people are working for free at that point. |

Regarding the MACO/Training charges...my dealership is saying they cannot and will not remove those charges, and that they even charge their salesmen those fees when buying a car. I've read many stories about people having them removed but I haven't been successful so far. It's not a ton of money, but I don't want to pay them if I don't have to. I haven't signed anything yet, however my car is scheduled for production shortly.

I've just entered an order and the dealer is telling me that BMW will hold the current low financing/leasing special terms for 60days. So, there's risk that the car will be delivered outside of this window but I can apply which ever specials exist at the time of delivery. Can someone confirm how this works? I dont want to purchase it w/o the financing incentive...
