The 3M Di-Noc from Import Car Parts Plus was a great price, excellent quality, and delivered fast. Yes, I installed it myself. All-in-all, to get all the trim off, clean it, apply the vinyl, and reinstall took about 6 hours. I was not working at a blistering pace, because I wanted it to come out really good. I got the 8 sqft roll, which is 2 ft by 4 ft. I probably have a 6" x 12" piece left that I can't decide what to do with. Quote:
Thanks!! Yes, I took off all the trim. You pretty much have to. It makes it a lot easier to work with, and in order for it to look the best, it has to wrap around the edges of all the pieces and openings. The 3M Di-Noc was surprisingly easy to work with after I did the first piece and got the hang of it. It is pretty stiff, but then becomes super easy to control when heated, and then stiffens back up when it cools. I bought a heat gun from home depot for $20 and a $5 nail-puller tool, which are both absolute musts for this project. http://www.homedepot.com/h_d1/N-5yc1...atalogId=10053 http://www.homedepot.com/h_d1/N-5yc1...atalogId=10053 Other than that, I worked the material with my fingers. The nice thing is that it is extremely difficult to create a bubble, so it is not like you have to squeegee everything. In fact, I didn't use a squeegee at all. Most of our trim pieces are 3-dimensional shapes, not a lot of flat surfaces.

Very nice work. Only thing I see which would drive me insane because I'm crazy...is the weave lines are off. I've done the same with my trim...di~noc is real easy to work with.

Thanks!
Thanks man... I know, I thought of that after I was done, lol, but obviously at that point it was too late... Its not that bad, and people usually don't pay that close attention anyways.

Looks great! Did you choose to do the radio in a different pattern direction then the rest on purpose or did it just come out that way?

It looks great. We stock all 7 Di-Noc carbon fibers and we also have the 3M ScotchPrint Carbon Fibers. We also stock all of the 3M Brushed Aluminums in Di-Noc and Scotchprint. If anyone has any questions about them just let me know.

Thanks! That would be cool... I was thinking about that too, but it may be a little too much. It doesn't look exactly like carbon fiber. Especially when compared to a real CF part like my trunk. Also, it would have to be covered in a glossy wrap to match any other wet CF on the car.

I did the same, just need to do my door handles which are a bitch without creating a wrinkle. I ran out of material so i have to order some more. It def looks great if done correctly. Does the piece from the steering wheel just pop off?

The door handles were actually really easy. Just make sure you use heat. No, there are 3 screws in the back of the steering wheel that need to be removed, and then it pops off on the top left and right. Then you have to unscrew the switches from the inside once it is popped off.
