Proud new owner of 135is

Hi everyone, just picked up a new 'used' car that's out of warranty and am ready to start the process of modding. Will focus on basic modding, no meth, etc. (i say that now). Anyways, looking to get the basic DIY's and cheap mods out of the way like the clutch stop, etc. Then on to the intake, chargepipe, FMIC. I doubt I'll do more than that.

I like the clutch, but the 6MT has WAY too much throw. Is it a good idea to get the clutch stop with the SSK? I'm leaning MHD for tuning, just don't know whether it's good to get it before mods or after.

Thanks everyone, looking forward to learning more and more.

What are some good freebie mods to start off with DIY?

Welcome to 1ADDICTS! A good free mod is the golf tee mod but you already have the Performance exhaust so there's no flapper valve to keep open in your exhaust. The guys with manual transmissions can give you their opinions on clutch stops and SSKs and other manual type thingies. Post up some pics when you have time. I think the 135is is a nice edition to a special car. Congrats!

Clutch Delay Valve (CDV) removal should be a priority. Awful little device.

You will be amazed. UUC SSK is a VERY nice, if pricey, SSK with a superior pivot ball and bearing.

Welcome! What number is your "is"? You might want to check out the Dinan flash tune sale since they are half off.

How can I find out which production# my car is? Fun to drive, but been playing it easy with the fuel mileage and learning how it likes to suck gas at certain speeds/rpms.

Haven't decided on a tune company yet. But just placed an order from BMS for a bunch of starting out goodies. Ordered today.

-BMS SSK
-BMS billet rod for SSK
-BMS intake for N55
-BMS clutch stop
-BMS clutch valve replacement
-Phoenix Racing Aluminum Replacement Chargepipe
-2008+ Sport Oil Cooler Valve (RED)

I think this is a good starting point to get the car performing better. I didn't research other companies for parts, which is not usually what I do. I'm a deal hunter.
Next up is a FMIC and then the ECU. Recommend a good FMIC that's cheap compared to the Phoenix FMIC on the BMW website for $299.

Thanks everyone.

Where can I find the vendors section for good deals? The only vendor forum I see is for customer feedback after a transaction?

I'm interested in some combo deals, but don't see the one I want. Possibly you guys can make an offer.

Need the following, but don't see a combo deal on XP or BMS websites.

-JB4+
-FMIC
-DP

I'd like to get either the wagner FMIC or the VRSF stepped. VRSF or Wagner DP, JB4. I've already bought a charge pipe

I've checked out the website but didn't find a combo with the JB4, DP, FMIC. I'll be able to pick 2 of the 3 up on combo, just not all 3.

Not an exhaustive list. There are VM26XXX as well. I know because I have a VM26XXX.

Separated by coupe/convertible. Found the convertible list: http://www.1addicts.com/forums/showp...&postcount=329
