18's or 19's
I was wondering if you guys will buy new set of 18's or 19's wheels or stay with your originals...
Personally, I will buy a new set of 18's. Nice set of wheels that are lighter and wider compare to OEM... |

I can't say. I have to see it in person to decide. I wonder what the offsets are.

I'm liking these 18" 261 M's that are available in the German brochure
with the 337 M Sportpacket. I'm also staying away from thinking about 19"s because of the 1-ers size and how (I suspect) they could throw off the proportion which is so critical on small cars. |

Its amazing that for such a small car it seems to swallow very big rims. I mean 18's and 19's dosent seem as drastic as they would appear on other cars of this size. Maybe its just me...I dunno.

An 18" 261 (like above) looks larger because the spokes extend into the rim. Wheels with thick barrels & a convex face will look relatively smaller.

I like the look of the OEM rims, and I doubt i'll want to pony up for new rims.
Plus - if I could, I would try to find a way to put 16" rims on it...love the looks of the big rims, but prefer the lighter weight and cheaper price of smaller rims & tires... |

I'm on 19s now, but would likely go to 18s on the 1er.

I have a baaad feeling this car is going to be relegated to a rice punk mobile in no time.
Why all this talk about how rims LOOK? 19's would be absurd on this car. Even 18's might be over the edge. It's a driver's car, not a pimpmobile. It's all about handling... 19's are just too stiff. 18's are better. 17's might actually be ideal on this car. I'm starting to hope the car is more expensive, not less, to keep punks out of it. |
