VO 1M door jamb under sprayed?

Has anyone else with a VO 1M encountered an area in the door jambs on both a-pillars not sprayed/undersprayed? This section appears to be part of the front guard where it attaches to main body.
Will try and post pics and would love to hear feedback before I bring it up with the dealership.

Typical of BMW these days. Have a look at at the finish on an E46 to show where they have skimped. If they keep going down this road they'll end up where Mercedes was in the late 90s early 2000s when they ( Merc' ) slipped in the J D Power surveys from their perennial top spot to be replaced by Lexus. Almost unbelievably Jaguar, of all car makers, has topped the list this year having bumped Lexus. Beautiful interiors in the latest Jags.

New F type looks very nice. Coming in a coupe as well.

Take it up with BMWNA, I would be careful about what your local dealership might try to do to fix it.

+1. However, I put this down to the quality of finish in the Leipzig plant as the E90/92 still finishes very well - may be not to the E46 standard but definitely better than the 1er. The x3 finish is worst however with bubbles, sloppy finish on the "internal" paint, and seats not as tight and nice as the German counter parts. I test drove the 5er a few times and the quality of the finish is substantially better than the Xs and the 1ers. I really think it is factory and specific.

-1. I don't think BMWNA will do a thing for us. AG might.

"they don't make 'em like they used to"

Alvin, I'd get that checked out. Obviously just tell them to spot repair it rather than spraying the entire guard for no reason.

I have to look at my 135i. But I know inside around my trunk(around the gasket and under the rear windshield)... the paint is "dull" like in your photos. I think also my inner fenders look like yours. I think BMW just doesn't use must paint in the parts of the car we don't see(that much). I also know under my hood and fenders in the engine compartment are also dull. My first thought was the BMW bean counters got the better of the company purse strings. The old BMW would have never done stuff like that! And to think they call themselves "premium" cars.

I'd say this is normal. But I need to take a closer look at mine first.

I had a look at mine today and even though mine is not a 1M, mine looks exactly like the OP's picture. Never noticed it before and I will bring it to the dealers attention. Very poor for a premium priced car. Also, it's exactly the same on both sides. Someone probably made a program change to the robot painting system. Interested to see if others chime in with same issue and if this is only on certain month / year cars. Mine was made in March of this year. It's not a big issue and I'm sure the dealer will sort it out quickly but now that I know about it, the OCD in me can't let it go.

Just to be clear, he's not inquiring about the lack of shine/clear coat in the jams, he's inquiring about the part in the picture that seems to show a lack of VO, revealing the white primer underneath.

Very weird. Never noticed that on any BMW before, and I oddly look at that sort of stuff.

Mine is the same. Maybe it is a VO thing on some production runs.

Mine look just like that, I've got a 135i. I went to the dealership and checked out 2 other black ones an they looked the same. This was before the 1M was even out.

Suck, Sticks out worse on jet black...
