Props to Luster for doing some coding on my car and my mate's car last night
Got some cool stuff done and it was a good opportunity for some car chatter! Thanks again! |

Luster,
have you ever coded a Z4 E89? I would love to have mine coded, and am free whenever you are! I'm quite interested about the following (in this order): 1. disable idrive CIC disclaimer 2. enable dvd in motion 3. automatic mirror folding 4. instant mpg in cluster 5. alarm beep when locking/unlocking I don't have an alarm though, can you make it beep regardless? ) |

I recently received a message asking the most requesting coding features. Since it was a long winded email, I thought I would share these with you!
Most requested features: The iDRIVE disclaimer removal Digital speed in cluster, is a very close second For those with CCC, tv in motion is next For those with methanol injection, turning off the headlight washers (as to not lose precious and expensive methanol) is on the top of the list Closing windows and mirrors with FOB is often requested The ability to disable the seatbelt chime requested a fair bit The disabling of lamp/light warnings for aftermarket lighting kits is very important for those with aftermarket kits The least requested is to 'have windscreen wiper return to home position after engine off' - this is generally reserved for those who have actually read up quite a bit on coding. As most coders will never even mention it as an option. Surprisingly, nearly nobody requests DVD in motion on the CIC units - while the coding is possible, its very tedious. The most requested coding features that cannot actually be coded (yet) are the following: - Enable automatic wipers by default - Full open or full close vert roof on single keypress (not hold down) - Enable on startup (various options including DSC off, DTC off, M mode, open sunroof, open roof, pdc on) - DVD region free - enable speed cameras on CIC nav - close mirrors on engine shutdown Last edited by luster; 02-11-2012 at 09:46 AM.. |

Next time I'm in your neck of the woods, I'll be sure to post about it. Coding enhances our car owning experience in many cases, significantly. I just wish it were easier for the BMW. Every other car that I have coded has been very simple and straight forward, the BMW is complex. Many of the options that are disabled are due to our strict Australian Design Rules, so coding is essential to improve our overall experience |
