17-inch wheels on e82

Hi, I notice some photos here looks like the car is on 17-inch wheels but I am not sure whether they are lowed. So for stock height, will 17-inch wheels look weird? Any idea or photo would be helpful.

Most people that run 17"s are usually do so for track purposes. Lighter which means less un-sprung weight, better steering feel and more sidewall.

I did a quick search and found some here. http://www.1addicts.com/forums/showthread.php?t=216413

128i comes with 17'' wheels and (maybe I'm in the minority) I happen to like that look. I'm pretty sure it's set to the same stock height as the 135i so you can probably look at pics of any 128i to get a sense of who the sidewall looks and whether you like it or not.

I had the same question - see the link below. I went for 17s and glad I did. I'm on M Sport suspension but a bit lower would be better.

I'm not into this ultra low profile huge wheel fad either. I know the talk about sidewall flex and cornering. I don't see much difference. The higher sidewall helps give straight line grip. The wrinkling in the side wall is happening instead of breaking grip with the road. This means you don't need to backpedal. So there are advantages and disadvantages. There is also what you personally like the looks of. Don't worry about what others think. If you like the look by all means go for it. There will always be people who like or don't like your personal design choices.

I would have figured there would have been more, my bad.

Here are two 128i's with 17-inch stock wheels and stock ride height.

We have many customers running our ARC-8 wheels for a autocross or track setup in the 17" diameter. With camber plates and M3 arms, you can get our 17x8.5" ET40 ARC-8 wheel to fit up front. That can be used with either 245/40/17's or 255/40/17's. The back of the car will be a problem, but the front of the car will have some rubbing. Using the 17x8.5" ET40 even with a 245/40/17 in the rear will rub without fender rolling. This is due to the car having unusually high rear offsets (the stock 8.5" wheel has a 52mm offset). The 1-series racers run our 17x8.5" wheel with 255/40/17 square, but they were willing to mess with the rear fenders beyond just a simple roll.
