128I no left tail light

This is my first post and its about my 2009 128i convertible tail lights. The left rear only has brake lights and no running lights. i have progressive lighting on the rear so that when brakes are on the light gets brighter the more the brake is depressed. i checked all bulbs and they are fine.
Also i was on a trip and after about 4hours of driving pulled into a rest stop and idling when the engine shuttered or skipped or miss-fired and a engine block showed up in my dash.
Can anyone advise me on whats going on or how to repair

Time to go to the shop...or dealer.

Alternatively, you could start checking each of the roughly 2,000 conditions that might make the engine skip-miss.

tail lights built before Dec/2010 are prone to fail. It is a not IF but WHEN, deal.

Tail lights out, no warning light?

BMW dealer replaced the tail lights while the car was under warranty. But it wasn't a recall. I would ask a dealer IF they will good will you the tail lights(you should replace BOTH sides). Or... get some LCI's or even Blacklines.

Sometimes you can pick up the pre LCI tail lights in the FS section for cheap. ~$100 for a pair. Blacklines will runn you about $350 for a pair.

Yes, like Dackel says, look into getting blacklines... they are very nice. Do some searching... there are a lot of pics and info on them.

I could probably let my pre-LCI tails go pretty cheap. I forgot I even still had 'em, lol. Otherwise, black lines are an excellent choice.
