Deer suck
One of them darted out in front of me, and this was the result. This was out on a city street, along a route I usually never travel. Very, very frustrating.

Sad to see this. Hopefully insurance replaces everything and it's back on the road soon!

Sucks man. But think of this as an opportunity to get that Performance bumper or M-Sport bumper that you have always wanted!

Fender, hood, headlight and bumper. Good thing it's all cosmetic. Sorry to hear this happened, poor deer also.

Glad it wasn't worse.
This time of year the local body shops work overtime doing deer hit repairs. One thing I have learned is that they travel in groups and if you see one that is crossing or has crossed the road don't look at him but rather look at where he came from since there is probably another following.

Perhaps your local body shops have a captive deer breeding program? |

As far as me, I just got small scrape on my arm from the airbag deploying. The seat belt kept me firmly planted in my seat, and I got the call from BMW Assist in just seconds after impact checking up on me. So all the stuff that needs to work, worked.
I was going about 45-50mph prior to braking before impact. I didn't really see how much I managed to slow down. Hitting a deer was one of the last things I would have expected on this road, right around the probability of hitting a space alien crossing in a flying saucer. Right now, the initial visual estimate is running around $8500 prior to the teardown. To me, as it was an animal, all of this ends up being a comprehensive claim to my insurance company, so I wouldn't even be dinged for it as a collision claim would do. Even though there aren't too many deer around me, a scroll through the local canyons always seems like a popular past time for deers in my area. Off I go to Amazon to get a set of deer whistles.

Estimate is up to about $12.5k now. In terms of messed up stuff interior to the engine compartment were a cracked radiator reservoir, and a radiator support panel. The radiator itself was fine.
Them xenon headlights are expensive. For the assembly, bulb, control module, and a few other items, that was approaching 2k in parts on its own. |

I would have your insurance cut you a check and do the repairs yourself. Good time to do a 1m front end conversion and you could have quite a bit of money left over if you shop in the right places
