Dave I am wondering if you could clear up a question I have regarding the 2009's?

###
All-new Smartphone Integration Option
A new Smartphone (for instance iPhone) Integration option will be available starting with October 2008 production for $150. Once installed, the option charges the phone, allows access to music stored within the phone, and can improve telephone reception. Smartphone Integration does not take away from the features of the iPod/USB Adapter; meaning that a customer will still have the USB and AUX inputs available. Smartphone Integration requires an accessory snap-in adapter to fully integrate the option into an X5, X6, 1, 3, and 6 Series. Snap-in adapters and phones compatible with this new option will be announced shortly.
###

I wonder if this "option" is just a $150 option/part that you can get from your dealer in Sept or if it is factory installed only???

That is looking like a must have. Now, my procrastination will be paying off.

Honestly I'm not sure, although I think it will be a safe bet that it will be more than $150 "installed" at a dealer (assuming thats available)

^^^ My understanding is that the usb connector in the glove box is for loading songs into the internal hard drive. My thinking on all this is that I will no longer need the ipod adapter option since I will load my songs into the internal HD via the glove box (or the system can rip songs off a disc in the player I read).

actually we were told, due to legal restrictions with ipod(apple), you can actually download the songs from the ipod onto the hard drive. Only songs from flash drives, cd's and the like

I'm guessing you meant can not download from an iPod. In that case, folks just have to burn the songs onto CD's and then let the system rip 'em from there to get 'em on the HDD.

Call me biased, but if any military folks were to buy a BMW from any dealership, it should be Pentagon Car Sales. I'm not sure about the other dealers, but PCS is directly sponsored by BMW AG.

Edit/Addition: Anyone in Germany, Spain, or Italy should try this program. If anywhere else: First Choice for Kuwait, Iraq, Afghanistan, UAE, or USN Fifth Fleet. Contact Superior for Bahrain. I'm not selling anything for anyone, and I could be wrong, but it seems like those three programs are the only ones sponsored directly by BMW AG.

Any Priority 1 Options for '09?

For '08, we had Blue Water, Terra, Lemon. Blue Water was later added to the regular option list but Terra and Lemon remained P1 options.

How about '09? Any new paint colors as P1 options for /09? Are terra and lemon leather still p1 options?

Thanks.

Awesome!

Now I can sleep at night knowing there are no special colors coming, and BMW really did yank one of the best away from us when they took SGM

Now if the broschures would come out, we'd know some more details like - is the nav really not flip up anymore.... are any non-cost changes to the car other than options?

Is any of this truly concrete yet? I want to order, but I'm very afraid to miss a tiny little boat by being impatient

What bluetooth phones are compatible with the 2009 1 series? I current use Verizon Wireless and there is no info on the BMW website for the 1 series.

I think that may be some of what the smart phone integration is going towards...
