Amazing color and looking very good on 1M, congratulations.
"Constructive Critics" if you need one: I assume you wanted to give some sharp colour contrast to the uber grey look with the orange touch on the wheels which is not exactly my thing BUT since you did it already you could as well think about putting a similar touch on the front lip plus adding a new trunk spoiler with the same style, and maybe also painting the calipers as well, all of them easy and quick mods given what you did achieve. If it was my car I would also keep the shadow line trim (like you also chose the black front grills) especially for the connecting part of the exterior rear view mirrors. But that's it really, I like what I see here, great looking car, congrats again. Last edited by ozinaldo; 01-27-2012 at 07:25 AM.. |

I beg to differ, Dave. If you have it done right that is. I was thinking about matt black for mine... got two quotes, both were for 2.500,- Euro+. The plus being the unforeseeable.
But mind you... those are people that know what they're doing when they wrap a car! One of them is the company that did the wrapping / foil design and application for the Koons Le Mans M3 art car. Getting it done cheap is always an option. That' usually what it looks like, though. Getting it done right and things have to be taken off the car in order for them to be wrapped correctly. Taking the front bumper off i.e. adds to the time required, but that way there are no cuts in the paint and it looks painted. Same goes for doors, hood, trunk lid, etc. pp. Btw... a lot of the commercial vehicles in Germany are wrapped. Almost everything in the public service sector (that is why they changed the base color of our police cars from white to silver - the blue is just wrapped - once the police car has its mileage, they strip the blue, remove the magnetic light beam and sell the thing as a silver car). A well wrapped car can take a lot more than the current paints can!

So that's what the 1M would look like if BMW would offer it in Space Gray color?
Well, I don't have a 1M but my car is already Space Gray. |

Yea... Emm... your right. I think a good wrap job now runs about 3K EUR. At the time I wrote the above I had seen a show on KabelEins showing how they wrap taxi's in the beige color. Underneath the beige its a dark color(black, or green or even silver - for later one when the owner wants to sell his taxi). No one over here would buy a beige color car. No one but us Ami's! (that is!) I know about the Polizei cars being silver or black underneath the traditional green and white or silver and blue colors.(depending on the region of Germany). Here in Bayern they are still the old Green and White colors. I think a good paint job over here would run 3K to 5K EUR. Still a wrap job is cheaper than painting a car. Maybe I'm wrong. ? Thanks Emm. Dack |

Karl,
That looks absolutely fantastic. Sporty and tasteful all in one. I must have missed this, but what was the base color of the car prior to the wrap? BSM? |

Karl,
this 1M looks great! Could You please tell me what is the exact model of wrap you used on this car? Is it the 3M™ Scotchprint® Wrap Film 1080-M261 Matte Dark Grey? Thanks, krzy |

Hi Krzy
I belive thats exactly it. It was a 3M Foil. Matte Grey was the Color. The Guy is selling the 1M now too, he PCS' very soon. I think the Matte Black would look good to on this car. Thanks Karl |
