My 09 128 sport has 18" wheels with non RFT tires in stock sizes. I am running Eibach springs and Koni FSD shocks for about 1/2" drop. Coming from a Cooper S I would describe the ride luxurious and have absolutely zero squeaks and rattles.
I am falling a bit out of love with the design. From some forward angles the drooping lower body line looks awkward. I was looking forward to the Z2 Coupe but that has been shelved. Very interested in the Fiat 500 Abarth if it really makes it to market here. |

I've had mine since May '08, and I'm up to 11,000 miles now. Still loving every minute of it, though I just experienced my first issue. The driver side window has stopped working and it is stuck in the down position. I've tried the "window reset" that is mentioned on the board without luck. Something must be mechanically wrong because I can hear the motor running when the switch is pressed. This will be my first experience with the dealer regarding a warranty issue outside of the regular maintenance.

Had mine since april of 08...13K miles. Ive been looking to trade in that car w/o any major loss but can't for now(winter is here) next spring it's gone. Not that I dont like it...its the best daily driver out there but I need something more raw...N/A with an high reving engine. I didnt like my experience at bmw dealership around here so the m3 is out of question....RS4 maybe or s2000 along with an STI.

I have had mine since March 09 and i love it more and more each day!! I have a rag top and it still seems to have no obvious rattles yet. I am actually supprised how quiet it is for a vert, i thought it would of had a lot more creaks and rattles.

I have to say that I am a little bored with mine....it is weird how it happened, kind of all at once. It just doesn't seem all that fast or special these days. I have had it for almost 2 years now, which is most of my 3 year lease.
It has been a good car--some problems, but nothing too crazy. That being said, as someone who has bought BMWs for my last three cars, I will truly be looking elsewhere once my lease is up. I used to think the 135 gave you a great bang for the buck, but now I am thinking that there might be better options out there....we will see....

I've had my 08 128i Sport for a year now - 18,000 miles. No problems, love the drive, gets a lot of stares. But sometimes I find myself looking at it from a certain angle - usually from behind - and not liking the short rear. I might want something with a little more room in the future.

There really isn't much out there with this kind of performance and the BMW feel for driving. I didn't drive the new Mustang GT as it wasn't out, and I have no desire for the overly wrought and claustrophobic Camaro. The Z is nice, but you better be dedicated to owning a niche vehicle with niche purpose. It's not really a daily driver or a tourer. |

I think the next generation 1er will be something worth having for sure, but I am going to have to make a decision, based on my lease ending, before it is available--like the 1M or SS or whatever....those, in theory, sound awesome.... I am just not "as" in love with my 135...like I said, still a good car, but not what it once was in my eyes....

Is there another engine available that provides 300ft.lb. of torque at 1400 rpm's?(stock)
At what rpm does GM's LS? hit 300ft.lb.? All that torque and the smoothness of a rotary. Priceless. |

Take it in asap. Cracking could be the end result of all the creaking and cracking rattling sounds you've been complaining about. Maybe now it'll finally get fixed. |

I could see people getting bored with the car without a tune. This car has yet to fail me in the smiles department at WOT with the Dinan stage 2 software. With that said, I think I will always have M3 envy until the day I own one. I want the electronic adjustable suspension, LSD and the soundtrack of a V8 at 8000rpms (among other things).

Having just driven a client's DCT M3 I can appreciate the envy to a point. The car is wicked on full boil and rewards you in a way that our 1s can't.
To me, that 1% of the time where you're in an environment where you can really push the car and appreciate it the M3 has few peers. The other 99% of the time I'll take my 135 for its torque, under the radar image, and value |
