Windshield Protection Strategies
I'm on my 4th windshield. The first one I broke by popping the hood with the wipers up. The second one broke from a rock thrown up at a DE event (110 mph). The third one broke from a rock thrown up on the highway (70 mph). I ended up missing half of the DE event because of the cracked windshield (it happened Saturday afternoon). I hope to do another DE before the year is out and am afraid the same thing will happen.
I was wondering if anyone has any suggestions of ways to protect the windshield. I can deal with the inconvenience of replacing the windshield under normal circumstances. The installer comes to my work and it's little to no inconvenience to me. But I don't want to miss time on the DE again. With that in mind, I'm not really looking for an expensive permanent fix. Just something that will help, maybe even just marginally, for a short duration of time. Thanks! |
