Unhappy Tire Wear Issues

Had my runflats replaced in 2013 with Michelin PSSs. Car had 30,700 KMs when this was done. Car is lowered with H&R 1.2" springs.

Two weeks back, I started to hear a "Whap whap whap" sound coming from the front end. Took the car in to Toyota (no BMW in my city) and I'm told that my front tires have several "flat spots" and "broken belts". Car has 56,000 KMs on it now - so the tires have just over 25,000 KMs.

I took the car in to Kal Tire to get a measurement of the tread depth and it's at 2/32. I don't drive the car that hard in the curves (mostly straight line).

Does this make sense to anyone?
- Flat spots
- Broken Belts
- Tread gone after 25,000 KMs.

Are these tires defective?

Aren't PSS' only guaranteed for 15,000 miles with no rotation? If so, you would have met the tread life warranty at least.

My AS3's are close to be done at 16,000 miles and they have a 22,500 mile warranty with no rotation.

"Flat spots" and "broken belts" are from hitting pot holes. I doubt the belts are actually broken, probably just bent. There are steel belts in the tire made up of many strands of metal. Each strand can get bent hitting a pot hole, and they will not straighten out. Think of bending a coat hanger and trying to bend it back into shape, won't happen. A tire belt is similar to 1000's of very fine coat hangers.

Also, when what the last time an alignment was done? Our cars are very sensitive to even small alignment changes.

Based on how terrible the roads are in my city, I suspect that it would be alignment. Will get an alignment completed when the new tires are put on.

Thanks for the help, I don't think I have a reason to go back to Michelin.
