N52 Evolve Stage 1 Tune (no DISA)

I have been reading a lot of the posts here because I was thinking about installing a DISA manifold as my next modification. But, even with all the information, I was not clear on which manifold would be right for my car (2008 128i). I'm pretty happy with the power my engine makes with the Performance Exhaust and the Performance Intake so I'm not sure I even want to make this mod. My biggest complaint is the stock throttle response. It seems the same pedal action will sometimes produce different responses from the engine, which I find frustrating. Has anyone loaded the Evolve Stage 1 tune on the N52 and what improvements did it make? It seems most go with the Evolve Stage 2 which is the tune for for the N52 with the DISA intake. But I was hoping someone could tell me from personal experience that the Stage 1 tune might be better for me. Thanks.

You can tell them to do whatever you want with the throttle.

That being said, any N52 DISA will work.

If you decide against disa manifold
The oft vushnu tablet is priced well an does throttle remap. See the e90forums. They should have n52 dynos soon.

Stage 1 tune is the tune applies to 130i. I don't know if the experince is the same for non disa.

Oddly AA have one tune for all saying that disa is an adaptation

AA has a stage 2 tune for no DISA, stage 2 for DISA, and then a stage 3/offroad tune for DISA and catless headers. I've used all three of them. The non disa tune does make a difference albeit not that substantial of one. It is noticeable though.

AHA! So you have experience with a non-DISA tune. You say the difference is not substantial, but noticeable. Can you describe the differences? I'm looking for a more direct connection with the throttle and more predicable response. Like the old days when there was a cable connecting your foot with the engine.

I thought AA dropped the stage 1/2

They did - now it's a tune for N52 and a tune for N52 with the 3 stage - both are called "stage 2"

To be honest the throttle feeling didn't really change much, not that i noticed anyway. I'm only 20 so i've never driven a car with a throttle cable although i've ridden many dirtbikes and motorcycles with a throttle cable so i still know the responsiveness you speak of.

I noticed a bump in power throughout the range but no noticeable difference in regards to responsiveness.

Thank you for your input, 631Twentyeighteye! That will really help me make a decision.
