Seriously i dont see why all the hatin on people that have the M badge?? I know for a fact that a few countries have the M badge put on from the shop and its usually for the M spec cars ie trim and bodykit. Me, personally i usuallyl debadge the exterior of all my cars. Our 135i also come with M badges on the side sills, steering wheel and gear knob i believe.. standard... |

But putting the "M" badge on the rear of your car, trying to show like the model is actually an M designation is a forgery. And leave the 320 there too just makes you look like a loser, imo. But each to his own - if you want to label a car what the manufacturer knows isn't, then go ahead, i'll just have a quiet chuckle and move on. But this case served me with a great laugh |

It looks like it has M-Spec wheels on it (and is that an M rear bumper?).
As part of the WRX brigade, I been caught up in the argument about guys putting STi badging on a standard WRX. I believe that if you have installed STi parts on the car then you, within reason, can throw an STi badge on your car, similar to if you put a Tein sticker on to denote their suspension being installed. So, by that argument (in a very long winded way), if he wants to put the M badge on as a result of the wheels, then so be it. Although, you're right that it looks odd having an M badge immediately next to a 320i badge. Or maybe it's the ultimate sleeper, with only the single M badge hinting towards it's demonic underpinnings..............

Funny is I have seen quite a number of these M badges on some older 3s and 5s, would that be put by a few particular dealers back that time?

That is a M sport pack 3 series. So I guess in a way it's justified that he puts the M badge. I'm waiting for someone to laugh at my X5 because it has the M badge at the rear, then smoke them at the taffic light. Lol

He has an M sport kit. I dont believe he is deceiving people or comitting a ''forgery'' as he clearly still has his 320 badge on. The majority of people would not believe that this is an 'M' car anyway. He has not gone to great lengths to hide the fact he has a 320. He likes the M badge and like a lot of enthusiasts probably aspires towards having one. |

Taymaishu, the car must've grown an M badge after feeling so inadequate parked next to yours.

Nah, no one wants to look like an E66 7 series cos they're ugly as sin. I'm surprised it did not hide its face in shame.
On a side note, it's that an Audi A4 parked next to the 7?

I think they didnt do it for E46s. But some bimmers from the 90s have an M variant package and are badged just like that. ie, ///M535i to denote that they have some ///M bits, but arent full ///Ms.
