Touching up paint on car and wheels.

I am a detailed guy and I wanted to share my thoughts on great touch up products. I am very happy with Dr. Color Chip. Unlike regular touch up there is no gloubing mess. Instead it just fills the chip only leaving no extra paint. I also have used automotive touch up paint a lot for touch up for my cars and for certain things this is still great. My 2009 128i literally looks new with the combination of both products. Not a single noticeable chip. For my wheels I found that for my silver wheels paint color 354 is about perfect. For larger rash I use the touch up paint from automotive touch up. You can get literal everything to paint you whole car from them. I hope this is useful information.

I have their Valencia orange touch up kit and it is NOT an exact match, unfortunately.

that being said, I have heard great things about their products otherwise.....just not with this colour.

Are you referring to Dr. Color Chip or automotive touch up paint?

I prefer Langka over DR color chip for real rock chips ( 2mm and larger). It uses OEM touch up kits the best way possible. I once filled a 7mm hole to an acceptable result

Dr Colorchip system is more of a dye & hides small spots well

I have found it is really great on scratches. I also use factory paint on larger chips.

OP what wheeles do you have? I have 261m wheels and need touch up due to tire shop damage. I know nothing is going to be an exact match due to the 2 layer finish.

Mine are 262. The silver paint would be to light for your wheels. Very good for the 262 or similar silver wheels.

Sorry to be dense but I'm not clear on what you use for your wheels. Who makes paint color 354 and what touch up paint from Automotive Touch Up do you use for the larger rash? I've got some curb rash to deal with as well as some smaller stuff. I've got the stock wheels on my 2012 135i. Thanks!

I'm pretty sure color 354 is the code for Titanium Silver so he's saying the BMW Titanium Silver is a good match for factory wheels.

Very good experience with DR Color too, their AW matches mine perfectly.
