I take it to mean as of today in the system. I would assume plenty more would come out over the next days. I don't work for BMWNA, so I have no clue how they work the allocations (daily, weekly, etc.). I just hope I can get a 1SMC...what a bummer if the enthusiasts can't get one.

As stated by ///1M (page 4): We dont know when production starts in March

If its at the end of the month then it could be true.

I just talked to my dealer and they said they did not get an update today in their system today. They said the updates happen Once per day and that it could take several days for all systems to be updated at all dealers. Also as was mentioned earlier Allocations will updated throughout the year from month to month as production numbers change.

That strikes me as odd. AFAIK, dealers have been notified only with regard to the allocation of cars to be produced in March.

Who's the dealer?

Dunno, just passing along what they told me. It's a relatively small dealer in the Midwest.

Gabe on Bimmerfile said he doesn't expect to get his 1M until October.

Finally heard from my dealer! Says he doesn't have a production number yet but I'm looking at production sometime in march... I hope he's not pulling my chain.

Can he have a production date with no production number?

So you were actually given a production number? Hmm.

Congrats. You should be one of first in Houston

Sounds like you have an allocation for a March build. Possibly he will not get a production number until your order is actually put in system.

Are you planning Euro delivery?

Aw man I'd love to do ED as long as they let me but from what I've been reading it looks like the dealers are not too keen on that with the 1m. Fingers crossed...

My dealer said that it will be available along with discounted MSRP. You should save $3140. From what I was told by my SA is they have to have a Production number before they can request a ED date of your choosing.
So as soon as they get your production number have them request that for you.

I still don't have an allocation AFAIK

Wonder if the 14 cars for the US in March includes press cars?

Australia is getting 6 March build slots-- 3 press cars and only 3 customer cars.

I put my deposit down on 7/13/2010. Ordered Alpine White, fully loaded. I called my CA today, I am scheduled for "Production Week March 9th".

So for our late March prod. start theory, seems like an early start in March is
a fact! A lot of first prod. cars will remain at countrys HQ's.

OH btw congrats!

My CA just called me with more info. The BMW Rep is at my dealership now and said that only 25 cars were released to the whole US, only 3 cars to the US western region.

He said the dealers have never seen anything like this and they are all very disappointed like the rest of us. With all the hype and early promotional material for the 1M and then to not build cars to meet demand is a first for BMW as my CA and I agreed.

We can only sit back and wait for each months allotment to see who does and doesn't get our cars.

Not good news at all!!!

So does the US western region include Arizona? If so, that would mean that myself and another would account for two of those three. I don't think that is right.

Yes, I think you were one of the lucky few in the Western region to get a car. Did you actually get a production number from your CA?

But, two out of the three both coming to AZ?

Yes, I have a production number. When I talked to my CA he said he didn't understand what the big deal was. I guess it was no problem at all for him to get me my allocation.
