Help me pick my next mod?

So my car was completely stock since 08 till about June of this year. I was debating on getting a new car most likely a Z4 but instead I decided to mod and since then I've gotten performance wise a JB4, BMS DCI, CPE downpipe and axelback, ETS FMIC, BMS OCC, Drilled and slotted Rotors, SS Brake Lines.

The car is now a complete blast to drive and most of my high speed driving has just been in a straight line on a private road but I want to track the car so I ordered the Front M3 Control Arm Kit as well as a rear bushing kit. Now the problem is for the money of a ER Competition OC I could get a Sports OC and a meth kit but I've read that our cars run extremely hot on the track.

Is a ER Sports Oil cooler sufficient for weekend warriors just getting on the track or would I be better off buying the Competition Cooler since its going on sale on Black Friday and waiting a month or two to get a Meth kit?

TLDR= Want to start tracking my car ER Competition cooler vs ER Sports Oil Cooler and a Meth Kit

Well first id like some pictures of your car and second the installation of the M3 Control Arm Kit :P.

if you werent gona track id say get meth first since but since your keen on tracking then get the oil cooler first, the meth will only cool down the intake charged air. So makes sence to get the oil cooler first.

Heard good things about the ER Sports Oil cooler .

No real pictures yet wanted all my cosmetic mods done before I took an effort to go to a location and pull out a SLR but I have one from my ADV.1 topic awhile back.

Still waiting on the rims to come back in but I already have a JBspeed Front CF grill, Euro LCI Headlights, Blacklines tail lights, JBspeed spoiler, and a Scopione diffuser. Hoping to get either the Scopione Splitters or BMW Perf Sideskirts by Christmas. (Present to myself!) Might wrap the hood matte black as well still debating on that one Once all that is done I'm going to share plenty of pictures. =)

Might have been cheaper to just get a new car

if only you had a reliable resource for E85 tuning in your area, if only! you have tons of options on smart mods considering you're taking the track angle. I'd put an LSD on your short list. it's by no means cheap but only on the track are you really going to get the full value out of something like what a limited slip dif can do for you. although, like I said, you have tons of other options for price savvy mods.

I have ER competition oil coolers and really like them. I haven't been on the track yet but have had some spirited runs and my oil temps are pretty low. I think with the increased surface area you are better off with the competition. The only bad thing my shop said were the aluminum shrouding was a pain and not trimmed well. Also it affects the fit of any carbon fiber pieces you go with.

So do you find the shroud necessary or should I skip it

I think you need the shrouding. I think the shrouds are just poorly designed and don't fit our bumpers that well. I never talked to ER about the issue. I ordered mine through Russ at HPF. If I were to order stuff now I would go through Ahmed at vivid racing.

I've heard to many bad things about running meth but people make great power on it. For me I am about to buy a new GTR so I will play with that to reach that next level of power.

What bad things have you heard about meth? I've run a couple of settups on a couple of applications for thousands of miles with nothing but great results. Perhaps you are misinformed!

As for the OP. I'd certainly be looking at the oil cooler setup if you intend on putting a fair amount of actual track time in. If its only an occasional thing and you're not running the car at 10/10ths in the middle of a 35 degree day, the water meth setups for the street are hard to beat! I ran an aquamist with a howerton engineering tank and it was simply brilliant! I'd go that way again. My AEM setup in the other car is good, but not nearly as brilliant and well put together as the aquamist.

Just went for the dual oil coolers wish it was a bit cheaper but I'm happy with my decision so far.
