Seeking advice on tires...
I need to change my tires on my 135i Cab with sports package, 18" wheels. I live in NYC so the colder weather is approaching. My current set is the 215/40 and 245/35 RFT Bridgestones. Quite honestly, if I was smart enough to test-drive the car where I live, I would not have bought these RFs, as I can't take the bone-shattering bumps in these local roads. I see some of you have all-seasons, some have winter tires on cheaper wheels. I'd prefer all-seasons but are they not available as RF's? Of course, lacking space for a spare, I probably need RF's, although I'd probably prefer non-RF's.
Tire Rack recommends Blizzaks 225/40 RFTs all around on cheaper wheels. Is this my best bet? Thanks for your help. |

I am in Colombia and can't really help you with the winter part of the question, but my RFTs aren't as bad in the pot-holed city I live in, even with the M suspension in my car. You don't have space for a spare so I would imagine a winter RFT should be a little less stiff than the all weather tires. I don't know if they exist or not. If they don't, then buy the softest kind of RFTs available for all weather. The DTC and good driving skills can help you in slippery conditions.

225/40/18 all around works perfectly fine.
