What was the point of your first post? I took it that you were either trying to insult some on this board because they didn't get as good a deal as you perceive. That was the tone in your post.

Here at 1ADDICTS we are a family. We don't take too kindly to someone attacking some of our family; so, that's why your first remarks haven't come off too well. Most here attempt to lift eachother up and rejoice when something great happens to them. When a member of our family has good fortune we share in their gain. When they don't we share their pain.

If you want to be a part of the family then act like it. If you wish to start over we can forgive but you now have to earn your place at the dinner table.

Brother Mikeo, could I have another slice of that pumpkin pie

An old saying that has stuck with me for quite some time, "Blowing out someone else's candle doesn't make your's burn any brighter."

Words to consider for the OP.

Now is there any cherry pie left MikeO?

I just wanted to say that yeah if you like your car dont be upset with what you paid, a lot of it has to do with where you got your car and when, I got my car when I was in Germany, for $24507.00 fully loaded. Some people have paid more some less, just enjoy your car and have fun.

ARES45 really put it best. With limited supplies of a brand new model, very few of us had bargaining power. The dealer holds all the cards. [Gack! Unintentional Stupid Pun - sorry, guys]

I haggled as best I could with the sales staff at my dealership, but the only real "discount" I got came in the form of getting a wee bit extra for my trade-in (the one area where they were actually pretty generous).

That said, the fact remains: With demand high and supply low, dealers have no incentive to drop the price at all. Like many here, I really wanted the car, and I don't regret the price it took. Paying less would've been great, but it wasn't going to happen.

Yes, your SA was probably a jerk for laughing in your face (not the best way to close a sale, I think). But taking it out on us isn't fair, either.

Sorry but its true!!

Well sure, if you own a 2008 its a used car...any car that has an owner is used! But a new 2008 model at a dealer is certainly not a used car. Just because it is not the current model year has nothing to do with its "used" status.

Paid Sticker.

Went to 3 different dealers and they all told me I have to wait 8-12 weeks
Then one of them called me back the next day and had a car for me (just like I wanted but for sticker price) from some other dealer in Florida that had the car canceled.

I was in the car in 5 days and paying sticker was worth it.:roundel:

My wish list was not that easy to find on the lot and was not willing to compromise much.

Are there really people out there who paid sticker price? Do people like that really exist? If so..are you mad you didn't wait a couple of months to save multiple thousands?
Like many others here we bought our cars when there virtually no deals out there and paid MSRP. However we have been enjoying our cars all summer and that is worth alot to me. IMO you got the bad deal since you financed your car. Borrowing money on anything that deprecates is a really bad financial decision.

Anyway sit down for a few hours and read some old posts and you will understand the “family” that is talked about on the forum.

Hope things get better for you.

Not used, but certainly worth a considerable amount less than a 2009 that might have been sitting next to his on the lot. What about 36 months down the road, remember those two cars that were sitting next to each-other? Yep, the 2009 will always bring more $$ than the 2008. Even if the 2009 was technically "sold" before the 2008...

Basically this newb got pwnd for asking such a ridiculous question when he himself didn't technically get the "latest" 1er. Now that his 1er is in his garage, if he should want to sell it, no one will know if its been in his possession since release or if it was a left-over 2008 that he bought 2 days ago. Both cars (one that has been out since release and does not have a ton of miles) and his are going to fetch almost the same price in the used car market. They definitely will in 6+ months...

Oh, and for his information, I have not purchased a 1er yet. So, no, I've not paid sticker. However, back in 2001 when the 2002 Acura RSX-S's were being released, I paid sticker for one (whopping $23,500). In the end they forgot to process my $500 deposit as a down payment (credit card), so technically I got $500 off and free fog lights...

Its the price people pay for buying the latest released car. I didn't mind paying what I did for my RSX-S, the car held its value like no other. It's further ridiculous what they want for used RSX-S's now that they don't make them anymore...

Anyhow, enjoy your 1. Depending on this years raise, I might order a 2009 around x-mass time. If not, I'll probably wait for the next generation 1er or 3er...

To the OP, referring to your SA as 'sort of a douche', especially after he gave you a pretty good deal, isn't really creating a good first impression.

We're far from hostile here, as has already been pointed out. Moderators try to keep this site as friendly and constructive as possible. Taking indirect digs at people that may not have negotiated the same dream deal you did on your 1er is not getting off to a good start.

Now that I've got that out of the way, welcome to 1addicts. You've got a great car, and we're a good bunch on this site. We'd like to hear more about your car and what you think about it.

I see what you did there.

I paid sticker, and I have absolutely no regrets. Sure, you might have saved 1k or so, but I've been driving and enjoying my car all summer. We're the early adopters; we've been waiting for the 1 since last summer, and we were willing to pay a premium to drive it this summer.

Also, I see you didn't take location into account. Around here, there are only to local dealerships, and they're run by the same person. There isn't much in the way of negotiations.

Can't say much more then most have said already...my short time following here I've definitely experienced that "family" type of atmosphere. I've yet to order my 135 and have just been gathering a bunch of info from many on the board so far and looking forward to placing an ED order soon.

How bout a slice of humble pie?
