Aussie 1M Registry

Think I might finally have seen another 1M on the road. Got waved at by a driver of a black 1 series with blacked out grill up near Killara. I was turning (and going "a little" fast) so I barely had time to wave back.

Anyway, got me thinking. I am already losing track of who has actually received their cars. Any interest in a local registry?

We could keep it very simple, eg:

name / short vin / colour / build month

Steve Brown, VPxxxxx, AW, March 2011
gazz, 75444, AW, March 2011
NPVPositive, 75494, AW, April 2011
alik01, 75557, AW April 2011
Sparoz, 75567, VO, April 2011
Alpine, 75574, AW, April 2011 [or is that Way's #2?!]
lavaletta, xxxxx, VO, April 2011
ex-Way #2, 75574, VO, May 2011

Lol let's see how they stack up... 300rwkw vs 215-220rwkw. I predict about 4 or 5 bus lengths

Not sure if everyone has their exact build day? At least we can use the build month off the inside of the driver door.

I'll list them in order by VP number.

Login name / short VIN / colour / build month

Steve Brown, VPxxxxx, AW, March 2011
gazz, VPxxxxx, AW, March 2011
NPVPositive, 75494, AW, April 2011
Sparoz, 75567, VO, April 2011
Alpine, VPxxxxx, AW, April 2011
lavaletta, VPxxxxx, VO, April 2011

You would think there is enough twisties in Killara to throw the favour back the other way .

The 1Ms will respond as well to mods so the performance advantage will always be with a 1M once sorted.

It's not my car anymore, but given it is a register I assume you want it to be as complete as possible. You can call it WAY's ex car for now lol, until the new owner joins. VP75574, VO, April 2011 (I think - will confirm later).

There for 4 days - if I get through the break in - will be happy to! Limited track experience though.

I'm in Sydney WAY and don't give a SH!T about turns. It's all about straight line speed for me. I'm building me a dragster!

Normally I would agree but IMHO the power difference is too much. I've run 12.2 seconds at the track and I was surprised to find out the difference between 12.2 and 12.6 seconds is about 4 or 5 car lengths. Unless the 300kw driver has never turned a wheel before it should be an easy win at the drag or track. Lets just hope the 1M drivers don't do power mods lol

If all you have done is power mods on the 135i, then I can almost guarantee that the 1M will win with the same driver on most tracks. For example, the speed you carry out of a long straight makes a massive difference to the top speed you carry at the end of the straight.

Why don't you do it to your 1M when you get it.
Knowing those crazy US petrol heads they probably have already got a 1 series competition drag car.

I know it is probably dangerous of me to mention it, but.... if you wanted to drag wouldn't you just trade the 135i on a TTRS and tweak that, surely that would be more of a rocket on the strip
