>122°F outside temp

Several car brands are testing prototypes under extreme conditions before they relase a new car! I have tested today my new 330i by going to Death Valley! So far, BMW has done its homework. Although the vent for the engine was working all the time as has done the vent for the Logic7 amplifier, the BMW was perfekt running. The AC worked hard to do its job very well!
We had today 127°F or 53°C! The exterior thermometer of the E90 is limited to 50°C/122°F! I was very disappointed by this upper limit, because 127°F would have looked better for my pict.! mpg (see picture) was o.k. for this temp. (calculated over the last 567km)!

Wow, that is SO HOT.. I was glad you posted this cause im actually driving to Vegas from San diego in about a month. And i go right through death valley.. i wasnt sure if the heat would affect the car in anyway. But im glad to hear that your car held up great!

-Im actually thinking of just leaving at like 6am here, that way when i get through the desert its not right in the afternoon heat.

8.1l/100km's is pretty good for a 330i! Especially in that heat! I think I would die...prob why it's called death valley! Amazing the car still works in those tempratures

We have had some 117 degree days here recently and my E90 did not mind at all. Good, strong A/C.

Of course it's possible. If I'm not mistaken avg day temperature in the Sahara Desert is 120°F.

Mismatch In Temp Displayed On RAD And Cluster

I noticed today that after having my "software updates done a few days ago the temp reading on the Radio Display is 1 degree less than the temp being displayed on the cluster over the steering wheel??? What gives??? I get some shitty updates and they screw this up. I realize only 1 degree but wasnt like that prior to the updates....

Anyone have this temp discrepency????

Bella

You would not exactly go "right through" Death Valley on your way to Vegas. You'll be close. But remember, too, that the Valley floor at Badwater is 282 feet below sea level and therefore temperatures are more extreme there than at sea level. (Baker is 1077 feet above sea level).

To get to Death Valley on your trip you would have to take SR 127 north out of Baker, CA. about 80 miles then north another 30 miles on CA-190 . You know, the little town where the Bun Boy and the world's tallest thermometer are? That's where you'd need to turn off. See photos below of the thermometer, an area map and that damn Bun Boy logo!

Also Baker, CA link: >> http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Baker,_California

I'm just here to help!
