Talking Another Successful Road/Camping Trip with the 1er!

Went camping this past weekend for my birthday with my wife, pup and a couple of friends with their dog. We had actually planned to take the wife's Mazda 3 but ended up loading the 1er and rolling out! Had all of our gear + dog in the car, packed to the gills. Quite a few nice mountain roads leading out to the campsite and the car did great even with all the extra weight.

Every time I do something with this car I wonder why I'd ever need anything else

Sounds like a fun trip. Its cool you get so much use (and enjoyment) out of your 1er.

Nice to see Apollo had a buddy. Bet he really likes camping. Is that a Shiba? I hear they are wonderful dogs.

It was a good trip! And I try to squeeze every bit of use out of this car

Apollo LOVES camping, especially when we can let him roam off the leash. Sadly this was a State Park so not too much freedom on the trails until we got a bit further out. The other dog is indeed a Shiba, but she's not super into other dogs so they didn't interact much haha. Shiba's are great dogs but very independent and cat-like.

Funny. That is exactly what the guys over on the Ford F-150 Owners Forum say all the time!

Glad you are having fun in your one.

Peace... Mack

Hahaha fair enough man. I'd be happy getting tossed in the dirt in a cardboard box. Besides I highly doubt with the way I drive it that it'll make it that long. Unless the way I drive it leads to a premature burial lol

You forgot that you have a lucky charm; your CF hood. Not as good as the luck of the Irish, but will have to do. lol

PS - you're not Irish, are you?

PPS - don't paint the hood, it might not be as lucky.

I'm glad you did this! Me and the wifey took a 4,000km trip from Toronto to Charlottetown PEI and then went through the States. It was fun as hell and I'm surprised we fit so much into the poor 1er. If you jenga it up, you can store a lot of stuff into the 1er.

Side note: I'd never let an animal into the 1er. I would have so much OCD kicking in for keeping the inside clean.

I've managed a lot with this car! This was just another installment in quite a few 1er adventures...

And the dog goes everywhere with me. He means more to me than any car! A car taco helps too haha

Mannnny Donuts lol. A car taco is one of those things that drapes between two sets of seats and keeps a dog from getting fur/dirt everywhere haha. Here's one on amazon
