HELP! BMW BIG PROBLEM!
There is this burnt rubber smell coming from driver front side wheel. Does anyone know what the problem is? I'm also having trouble engaging gears on my 330xi manual. Could it be a bad syncro? The clutch also seems to get stuck and won't rebound back. ANY help would be greatly appreciated! Thanks..

I think that smell is from intense driving,
My dad's E500 always stink up the whole garage, after he tries to drift any corner he sees. Foolish, yes. Funny, yes. But IT IS SO FUN!!...haha |

Sounds like you need a new pressure plate in the tranny. It smells kind of like burt rubber. I've gone through a few of those in my earlier days from hot roding around. Your gonna have to take it to the dealer before it gets worse and it has to be towed in. Not sure if BMW will pay for it. Good Luck...

This has happend to me numerious times. If you are driving the car really hard, then by the time you reach your home your cars brakes will smell burnt. It only happends when I drive my car, like a maniac. Basically, flooring the accelerator at stop lights/signs. Then braking hard right before reaching the car in front of me. But ,when I drive normal it doesn't smell since obviously im not pushing the limits of the brakepad rubber.

I will sometimes get that smell from just driving at highway speed for an hour or so in the summer. The tires get hot. That doesn't explain your clutch problem though.
