I am in the market for a 135i exhaust (catback or axleback) which will give a slightly more aggressive growl, and deeper tone, but absolutely no drone. I own a cabriolet, and I feel that drone will be specially troublesome. Some additional HP would be nice too.
I am currently thinking Corsa or the Maddad Whisper will fit the bill, but have not heard any in person. Does anyone know how they compare in terms of volume? Any other thoughts on these, or any other systems i should consider for my application? Thanks! |

OP can you update the original thread with more exhausts i.e. berk, AA, etc?

I just installed the Signature Series on my N55. The sound, tone, and lack of drone is almost perfect IMO. Yes, you can hear it with the windows up on level ground and uphill at highway speeds but it's anything but annoying. Tons of popping and spitting sounds when downshifting and letting off the throttle. Sounds mean. Some down sides...I'm not thrilled about the engineering of the 2 rear mounts. There is a slotted bracket where the exhaust bolts to the factory mount. This seems as though over time the bolt may work itself loose and slide making the exhaust sag. While the polish makes it look like a work of art at first, this is going to be a pain to keep clean. Since the tips aren't angle cut you can easily see carbon build up on the inside.
I wish I could take a good clip but it's not even worth it using just a cell phone. These need to be taken with a decent mic. |

I had the AA axel back before I upgraded to a full RPI quad setup. I received comments on the AA exhaust on a weekly basis, it was a very aggressive and deep/raspy sound. It demanded respect from everyone. It's anything but sleeper and imho, it does drone but you get over it very quickly because it sounds so good during WOT and downshift. Since I've ran the quad, I've had very few compliments on the sound but it does turn a lot more heads. I've heard the Berk (muffler-less) version as well and it has a completely different note to the N54 but still very nice.

My contribution, Meisterschaft GT exhaust, stock cats and midpipes. It only has about 30-50 miles on it so it should get a bit louder with time. Oh and my iphone surrendered at about 6,500 rpms

There was no exhaust clip for the Berk Street Axleback for N55 (everything else stock) so here is one for you. I have a few more so I'll update this soon.

Just put on my Berk Race Axleback. That and BMS Cold Air are my only mods.
I made a quick vid, will make a better one when it isn't so dark out that way it doesn't get all grainy. There is an odd whistle I hear in the video that I dont hear while driving, I assume this is coming from my car, anyone know what causes it?
