Project flush 1 - Work VS-XX content
These showed up in the mail today, I did 100 backflips then mounted them up. The fronts slip perfectly behind the fenders, but the rear rubs horribly, so I will be getting new tires that will stretch this week as well as rolling the fenders. I plan to lower the rear as much as possible, I'm on KW v2's...fronts may go down a bit as well, we will see how it sits.
Here are the specs: 19x8 +38 front Toyo T1R 225 19x9 +36 rear Toyo T1R 245 UPDATED PICS AFTER ROLLING: As I said, more pics to come of the rolling process...

Probably keep the 235's up front and go with 245 rears...haven't really decided yet. There aren't many good tire choices when dealing with 19's unfortunately. They were used, originally spec'd for a Z4, which is why they are so aggressive on the 1 series....perfect!

My 19inch wheel offsets are 43 and 45 but since my wheels are a half inch wider I'm only tucked in 3mm or so more than you. If you really want to slam your suspension your gonna have to do some work. 245's will still rub with just a fender roll. But of course shaving/trimming the inner liner, shaving the wheels, or trimming the fender are options.
Like you I figured it was worth it to get such a nice set of used wheels. I think I may just go the shave the wheels route myself although I'm not rubbing at all now since I'm just lowered 20mm, well rolled, and running 245 rears. Btw, looks great! Keep us updated plz. |

Problem with rolling the rears is these fenders have a fat ass lip and the section where the rear quarter panel meets the bumper is quite high up, an area you would want to roll normally too but you can't since the bumper is plastic =(

I was actually considering those exact wheels.
You are going to have to shave your fender. Becareful because if you shave it too much your fender will seperate, find the fine line. You are going to have to have around -2.6-3.0 degrees of camber, 245/35/19s and removal or major trimming of your fender liner. Honestly I think you should get the wheels shaved around 4mm.

Wow nice, looks clean, especially back where it meets the bumper. Did you coat the inner lip with anything to protect the bare metal after or just leave it?

yeah plasti-dip paint, works like a charm
at first i was hesitant to actually cut them, but in all honesty it is the best way to go. you gain the most room and it looks much cleaner |

Good luck. I want to see how this pans out. My last wheels were 19x9.5 et45 and I cut the fender like fmxomar in the above pics, hae my camber set at -2.6 degrees, 245/35/19 hankooks, and trimming of the fender liner. Only after that I stopped rubbing. Well I still rubbed on the liner, but that is no big deal. I reccomend you remove the liner while you cut and make things fit, so while you are checking for rubbing you ont have to worry about the rubbing that liner will cause.

I cut my own fenders, they seem to be about the same as yours, maybe a tad bit more. One thing though they dont look near as clean, lol. I need to clean that area up one day. lol

You, Motorsports, and I all are talking about the same offset rears, 19x9.5 et45. Amsfoto's setup is 3mm further out and he wants to slam his suspension lower than yours. Looks to me like you barely fit as is and I know I barely fit and I've seen Motorsports amazing slammed setup in person.
Shaving the wheel pad is the next logical option, although for some wheels it's a good option, some can't be shaved. IMO, as long as you find a good shop to do it, it should be safer and cheaper than rolling or trimming the fenders. All you are doing is removing pad buildup that the manufacturer used to achieve a more aggressive offset. I've had a good roll job. Later, I'll probably do some trimming in that area mentioned, where the fender meets the rear bumper. For sure though I plan to have a few mm shaved off my wheels next time I have to replace tires. It will be cheaper then because they have to remove the tires to shave the wheels. Amsfoto is looking at the same thing, but it should be worth it with such nice wheels. |

i defiantly have more than 3 mm of room to spare. shaving the fender gains much more room than rolling. so he could get away with it if he shaves his fenders good, and runs some 255's that dont run too fat, or even 245's if he wanted. and im pretty slammed too my kdubs are maxed out at the lowest setting in the rear with no fender gap, front tucks a little tire
so get your fenders shaved, test it, if it doesnt work, then move to the wheels. but it all honesty it can fit without going to step 2 |
