VMR 710 Gunmetal on Lemans Blue

18" ET50 rear, ET45 front Gunmetal VMR 710 on Lemans Blue, stock M Sport suspension. 225/40-18 front, 255/35-18 rear Continental ExtremeContact DW tires. RS Technik tire pressure sensors. No fender mods. No rubbing. Slightly more stretched than I'd like. Especially on the front. May try 235 front, 265 rear on the next round of tires. Wheels and TPMS courtesy of PYSpeed.com. Good company to order from, and they actually had the et50 rears in stock.

I know people have done this combo many times before but I haven't come across pictures of the gunmetal finish on Lemans Blue. I couldn't be happier with the look.

Thanks for that!

I'm still on the fence as I'm running the same size tyres, albeit Conti sport contact 5's & I'm not fond of the stretched look.

This is to save people the trouble of having to go through multiple sets of wheels/tires to try and get things to fit properly.

If you can list your relavent mods on the car (springs, shocks, rolled fenders, etc). We don't need to know if you have a blow off valve. Mods if you can make this a sticky!

I'll start off:

Setup #1

Wheels: D-Force EmPower
Front: 18x8.5 +40
Spacer: none

Rear: 18x9.5 +43
Spacer: none

Tires:
Front Yokohama Advan Neova 255/40/18
Rear Hankook RS2 Z212 265/35/18

Suspension/Fender Mods/Camber:
-KW V3 lowered ~1.5" front, ~1" rear
-Vorshlag front camber plates (brings the tires "in" more, away from the fender lip), ~2 deg neg camber front & rear
-slight roll front & rear
-had to cut some of the plastic out from the inner fender well

Notes:
Rubbed front fender where fender meets bumper
Rubbed rears slightly under hard cornering or on hard bumps on the street
(Rubbing or anything else to note)

Setup#2

Wheels: D-Force EmPower
Front: 18x8.5 +40
Spacer: none

Rear: 18x9.5 +43
Spacer: none

Tires:
Front Toyo R1R 255/35/18
Rear Yokohama Advan Neova 255/40/18

Suspension/Fender Mods/Camber:
same as above

Notes:
-Fronts are perfect now with mods from setup #1. Can't say for sure if I would need to do any of the above if I started off with the 255/35/18 Toyo R1R to begin with.
-Rears rubbed badly. Could not run the rear 255/40/18 Neova setup with the wheel. The 255 Neova was wider than the 265 Hankook because of the square shoulder of the Neova. The Hankook has a rounded shoulder so it would only rub under lots of compression.

Pictures:
Wheels: TSW doningtons staggered

Front: 18x8 +10
Spacer:

Rear: 18x8.5 +45
Spacer:

Tires:
Front Nitto Neo Gen 215/40R18 stretched
Rear Nitto Neo Gen 235/40R18 stretched

lowered on megan coilovers front 2.5", lowered 2" in the rear with Megan camber plates all around. set very stiff so no rubbing! have less than 1 fingers clearance between fender and tire all four corners

Notes:

check it out in my garage

I was told by the shop that inspects my car that they almost failed it because of the tire stretch. Not because there is no cat in the downpipe but because the tires were slightly narrow for the wheel.

anyone running any BBS wheel on their car aside from the LM or CH? looking for some new shoes but not sure which direction to go.

any other suggestions? looking for a high end wheel with a great look to it - something like the BBS RGR wheel.

thanks in advance,
Benji

What size tires could I get away with on my VMR?

Could i do 225/35/19 front and 235/30/19 rear? or is that too small on the back?

with 8.5 front and 9.5 rear rims and 45+ offsets, I'd lean towards 235s front and 255s rear.

Im running 215's front right now, and the rim sticks out too much. Im worried 235's would rub

Im running 255's rear and they rub a lot, it's wrecking the tire.

What r ur offsets? Half this thread is VMR / VMR like wheels running 225 / 255. 45+ for the front and 45+/50+ for rears should fit great.

Werid dude, I knew the rear was tight but thats messed that 45+ rubs and I bet 50+ doesnt.... weird. When I talked to VMR about a set of 19's 9.5 with 45+ they said the widest with out rolling fenders was 245... If that helps. If it really is bad I would say roll the fenders.
