2009 --Year one of the 1 --What?!
So I picked up my 2009 135 last Friday (will post pics soon!), however I wasn't expecting the Start/Stop button to have the "Year one of the 1" inscription since 2009 was not the first year. Before anyone asks, I'm sure it's a MY09 since I purchased through MSP, paid 09 prices, have confirmation documents that say 09, and a Title that says 09.
Anyone else noticed this on their new 1'er?? |

Check your Vin#. That will definitely say whether it is an 08 or 09. It would be very interesting to you if you were to find that it's an 08. It will be interesting to us if they've continued putting that phrase on the 09s.

That would be my theory too. What date did the 1er go on sale in the US?

Or maybe they just haven't used up all the Y1OT1 surround rings they have in stock and don't want to toss them.

It is most likely the fact that it was produced in 2008.
The 1ers started selling in the U.S. in March of 2008. I hope mine does not say "Year One of the One". Mostly because B.O. is known as "The One" and I do not want to have any part or be reminded of that B.S.!! |

Didn't order the new iDrive, so it's hard to tell that way. MFG plate on the door says made in 09/08 (which is what I knew). Last 7 is VF23988. Definitely '09 by all the paperwork I see. I guess I was thinking what was mentioned above --maybe BMW was going for calendar year 08 as "Year One of the 1." Either that, or the dude on the production line didn't get the memo...
