Please help - bday ideas for the boy
Gday everyone
My boyfriend's bday is coming up in July and this year Im hoping to give him something he'd love for his car. I dont know much about cars though so hoping you all can help.. All i know is that he has a 135i and he has juiced it (or something like that. boxed it? ). He'd probably love something to help the car go faster. My budget is $500-1000. Cheers! |

Get him a downpipe for it. He will definitely feel 15-20hp from it and it will sound better. As long as you guys don't have emissions laws and etc in Australia.
http://hpashop.com/category.sc?categoryId=230 That has downpipes listed on it, if he has a 2011+ 135i then he needs the N55 downpipe if its a 2008-2010 135i then its N54 downpipes. |

Pretty sure she said she wanted something to make the car go faster, not louder If that's the budget, and he has a JB3/4 (which sounds like he does), then maybe Downpipes would be the best option, or maybe a methenol injection kit but may be a bit complicated? Those two options will make the most power. And gauranteed, he will LOVE you for it! |

Wow what a nice girlfriend!
Do you know what year model the car is? This will help us determine if the engine is an N54 or N55, some modifications are specific to the engine type. Downpipes does seem like a good suggestion, they will give the car a bit more power and are within your budget. **********s has downpipes for a 135i for $730USD before shipping http://www.**********s.com/AR-Design...335i-335xi.htm If searching for downpipes, you'll usually come across two versions "catted and catless" Catted - means it has catalyctic convertors. Benefits to this are that it's legal, however produces slightly less power than catless Catless - means no cat convertors, i.e. 'straight through', benefits are more power, however they are illegal as they do not meet emissions standards (plus they smell a little bit) There is quite a debate about catted/catless, some people here run catted, some catless. The fines for running catless are quite hefty. If you do decide on downpipes, hopefully you can now make an informed decision. Goodluck. Maybe ask him if he likes power more, or if he wants the car to handle better?

Thanks for the quick replies guys! Esp bmroxm5 for the info on downpipes (eh?).
Re year of the car, he bought it in 2009 new. This "meth" thing mentioned a couple of times, think ive heard him talk about that to his mates. If he already has that then should i still get the downpipes? Wud be tragic if i got him something he already told me about.. (not such a good find after all Liub :-) Do all guys want their cars to sound louder? Bbk cant ask him anything or he'll suspect. |

As for Meth, next time u are in the car, have a look at the boot and if there is a tank of some sort in there he has meth. If it's completely empty chances are he doesn't have it. |
